In *general* from the Midwest to the West Coast. A northeast McDonalds, for example, puts just ketchup on a plain burger whereas say in Indiana or California they will serve a plain burger with ketchup and mustard.

Did you google that? Seems like an odd thing to know.

No, I'm an American that travels a lot and that has lived in quite a few states, and that knows his country's cuisine quite well.

You're like the Rain Man of McDonalds.

The ketchup mustard thing with McDonalds is not hard to figure out if you have done much cross country travel on a budget, and neither are the silly and bogus "Great Tastes of America" burgers being sold in the UK.

Oh, I have, I have. Several times.

McDonald's usually isn't my thing, but I think it's high time for say, a taste of New Mexico chicken burger with a nice cinnamony mole. I'd go for that.

Oh, and I have nothing against McDonalds, but I'd stop short of calling it cuisine. That just sounds like a backhanded way of insulting American food.

Savory and chocoltate never worked for me, and I love chocolate.

Nothing special about the word. That's just the hijacked and snobby meaning. No offense.

I'm like a heart surgeon I once met (really) that every now and then gets a craving for a Big Mac or a couple of their regular burgers. They still make good fries though, just as long as they are fresh and I don't eat them there.

Burger King is the best.

Just had the Chicago Supreme.

It was freshly cooked but was still dry (was waiting nearly 10 minutes in the parking bay). So were the fries. The salsa didn't really add anything and as mentioned previously not sure what it has got to do with Chigaco.

I don't eat McD's often so probably won't get to try the others.

Had the Chicago last night same old thing with a load of mixed in sauce. Very poor

I have to agree there, but it is only VERY SLIGHTLY better. The last burger I had from Burger King was so tasteless I ended up feeding it to the birds.

I had a quarterpounder deluxe with bacon the other week which was nice enough. Like it was trying to copy a whopper.

This weeks Chicago Supreme sounds quite nice actually:

"A delicious combo of our 100% beef patty, bacon, cheese, slices of onion, spicy tomato salsa, cool mayo and shredded lettuce finished with a chilli, chive and sesame-topped bun."

Mmmm. May pop to McDonalds this weekend

So the same one they had last time round.

I don't think the salsa added anything to it and not sure what it's got to do with Chicago.

Trying to remember if that was the one I liked last time...

What bugs me, as would be apparent from my previous posts in this long standing thread, are the fact that a) most of the burgers are essentially a bacon cheeseburger with a slight twist on the bun and sauce and b) these slight twists do not really have any correlation to the locations to which the burgers relate.

Yep they're hardly anything special when all they seem to do is change a sauce and bun.

It would help if they put more thought into the ingredients and the locations that they're named after.

I know they don't use pork because of contamination purposes but how about Bison or Buffalo?

This is McDonald's we're talking about. Not, The Ivy.

Yep, I'm wondering what the average McDonalds customer would make of Buffalo. Not a lot I reckon.

Standard diners in the US sell bison/buffalo along side beef.
Some even sell wagyu burgers/hotdogs

BK sell angus, which is beef but atleast it's a bit different.

All McD ever seem to do is change the bun and sauce.

You've missed my point. I agree with you these burgers are boring every year but you're not going to find McDonald's branch out into buffalo or bison. What McDonalds should be doing is looking into new regular menu items like the Angus Third Pounders and the premium chicken sandwiches they have in the states.
