I had the Texas Grande today and thought it was lovely. I would still like to ask them what they think Pepperoni has got to do with Texas but never mind.

These are back again.

I haven't seen the full range (can't find a link to them all, just the current one), but the first one is Texas BBQ.

Again, it's merely a standard Cheese and Bacon Burger with a unique bun and a BBQ sauce, but at least it's more authentic than last year, where the Texas Burger included pepperoni, which isn't directly associated with Texas.

Anyone got a link to the rest of them?

Why would you expect anything resembling authenticity ? The names they use for these burgers are designed to be marketable, nothing more nothing less.

I'm sure I answered this several times earlier in this very thread when it was live and active last year.

I accept your point. I just don't see why they bother to go to the effort to regionalise the burgers if there is no particular effort made in making the burgers at least in some way relevant to that region.

For example, as I said above 4 of the 5 burgers have cheese and bacon. which is commonplace and don't really relate to any region in particular.

The first week is the Miami Melt, which has a chilli and chive bun. How does that relate to Miami specifically - it doesn't in my opinion.

The one burger that doesn't have bacon is the Texas Grande - here is the description.

How is Pepperoni Tex Mex? To me pepperoni is usually associated with Pizza - Texas is usually associated with Tex Mex, BBQ or Steak where if anything Chicago is known for Deep Dish Pizza and New York is also known for it's thin crust Pizzas.

Yet the Chicago burger is again the generic Cheese and Bacon with a cheese topped bun and salsa - what does that have to do with Chicago?

I can just about buy the New Orleans as it has a Cajun sauce, but the others don't seem to have anything specific to the region.”

Hmm - cheese sauce and salsa? Sounds like they're trying to invoke the Fajita concept... with the same bog-standard burger. Think of the Monterey Jack Fajitas sold through Chili's. Wonderful aromatic smells coming off the beef, chicken and veg - then they chuck melted American cheese all over it.

I agree with you. If they are going to name them after regions/cities then you'd think they'd put some thought and effort into matching the ingredients.

But as stated, they are just limited specials that have a different bun or sauce and have a unassociated name slapped on them.

I wish they'd quit doing these silly specials and bring the Angus Third Pounders here like they have in America.

100% this. Stop all the faffing with what is essentially just a bacon cheeseburger with some crap sauce on it, and give the "normal" menu a much needed spruce up. I, too, would like to see the Angus Third Pounders here.....I'd go one with Mushroom and Swiss right now, even if it is 9am!! Wouldn't mind being able to get some of the dips they get in the US either, Ranch, Honey Mustard, etc.

Agree, it's about time they updated the regular burgers and added a few new decent ones for good. I'd like a blue cheese quarter pounder.

Very much so. I'm not asking for anything revolutionary, it is McD's after all. But their main menu hasn't changed for a very long time, in my recollection.

There burger buns are rubbish. The only good thing about Mc are the milkshakes.

Anyone had a Starburst milkshake yet? I'm a bad person to judge I guess as I gave up eating sweets years ago, but to me it just tasted of Raspberry Ripple rather than a Opal Fruit.

I didn't think it sounded very nice, but now you say Raspberry Ripple I'm tempted.

I wanted one of the chocolate brownie mcflurries yesterday but they'd run out of chocolate brownie pieces so had to settle for a crunchie one instead.

I agree. The main menu needs sprucing up and the constant rotation of the same promo items needs looking at. For the main menu, Angus burgers and McGriddles for a start!

I would agree it's time to think of some new stuff.

I did however try the Texas BBQ Burger last night.

It was perfectly acceptable, but not really unique in any way. A Bacon Cheeseburger with a bit of BBQ sauce, this has been done many many times before.

I had the Texas BBQ burger the other day...it was ok nothing special. I agree about the menu revamp. Im bored of the same old and the "specials" arent that great. Ive been to many Mcds round the world and ours is the poorest for choice

There was a thread on here about McD's around the world. It's amazing what they offer to different countries/cultures.

It's so boring, and unimaginative. They need to look more to the American menu, where you have things like Angus Burgers, Premium Chicken Burgers and a much larger range of Salads. All of these are not promotional items either. The UK menu is so stale in comparison. The only thing the UK branches do well is Breakfast.

I don't understand if a market like Australia can have the same items as America then why can't we?
