Maybe because its a BK exclusive so why would they want another rival company doing the same burgers ?

Also throw in the fact that McDonalds is ££ cheaper than BK so i doubt they would want to put people off with £5 a burger.

You ignored the point I made. They sell Angus Burgers in BK and McDonalds in the USA. BK do NOT have a trademark on Angus Burgers. How do you know it would cost £5 for the burger here?

I have not been in Bk for awhile but the Angus burgers are expensive. They are no McDonald's normal cheap prices because its actually proper beef!

And because the states are a lot bigger so the market share is a lot smaller here.

How come you're just making stuff up?! So far, from your few posts, I have got...

* BK have exclusivity on Angus burgers, in fact, "Angus" has a "deal" with BK here
* If McDonalds did do them, they'd be £5
* McDonalds don't use proper beef
* McDonalds couldn't sell Angus burgers here because the "market share" would be smaller here because we have a smaller population

All of which, absolute nonsense.

Why would a bigger market size effect market share ?

I was not aware that we was not a smaller population then the states.
Go to BK and buy a Angus meal and it's over £6 so show me on a McD's menu where a meal costs that ?

And McD's use beef but it's hardly a good cut of beef .

We do have a smaller population....but that doesn't mean we have a smaller "market share" does it? Market share is a % of the market in a particular country....for example (completely made up figures), 5% of the US population might eat in McD's regularly, 7% of the UK population might eat in McD's regularly. Therefore, McD's has a higher "market share" in the UK than it does in the US....the fact that their 5% is more than our 7% in actual number terms doesn't come into "market share".

Never said that an Angus meal at McD's wouldn't be more expensive than their current menu items....but you quite clearly pulled "£5" out of the air, that was my point.

Never said that it was a good cut of meat either, I just said that it was "proper beef", which you said it wasn't. Don't kid yourself, the BK Angus burgers aren't going to be great cuts of meat either, they just use beef from the Angus cattle (a % of the burger is, anyway, not the whole thing), meaning that they can put "Angus" on the label and charge a premium for it...nothing to do with the cuts of meat that they use.

You do understand what "Angus" means, don't you? Because from your previous few posts, it kind of indicates that you don't. Given that you think that "Angus" had done an exclusive deal with BK.

Angus burgers are still made from offcuts, just better quality offcuts.

Yet again you're talking nonsense. An Arizona meal costs 5.19 here in London. I m sure a company with the buying power of McDonald's could offer an Angus Burger for £5.50 and still make a profit.

It seems like in a few McDonald's have run out of the stuff for the Arizona Grande in Glasgow , it was all Chicago Supremes .

Not directly linked to the thread title, but equally not worth starting a new thread.

McDonalds have now launched The Championship Menu, presumably to capitalise on the European Championships.

Part of this is yet another Bacon Cheeseburger, branded the Cheese and Bacon Striker, which appears to be the same as a Big Tasty with Bacon. Other than the shape of the bun, it seems as if it's just the same as the Great American range (other than the Arizona one that had nachos and pepperoni on it)

 The promotions department at Mcdonald's is severely lacking.

And a "chicken maestro" which appears to be a Chicken Legend imitation. Also...wait for it....onion rings!! Revolutionary!

Went into Mcds yesterday and saw the new chicken burger. Very unimaginative, it's basically the chicken legend. Pleased to see the onion rings are back, if I could only have 1 thing to be added it would be these, the dream team box (10 onion rings and 10 nuggets) is the best! Haven't tried the other burger. I may do see how I feel, twice mcflurry also the limited edition mcflurry.

Yeah, they will stay a small company with such lack of imagination.

 Do you work for Mcdonald's or something? Every post you make seems to support their lazy and unimaginative promotion strategy in the UK. Have you ever thought that if they bought the products like Angus Burgers that you can get in America, Australia and even Germany they might make even more money. Big companies don't always get it right you know.

Yeah, I state the obvious so I must work for them.

They are one of the biggest companies in the world, I think they know what they're doing and it's ridiculous of you to think you know better.

So today sees the launch of the next promo burger, the Cheddar Deluxe - another generic Cheese and Bacon Burger - only slightly altered by the fact it's Mature Cheddar and again the sauce and shape of bun differ slightly.

What a load of old rubbish McDonald's. No doubt Walter will be along to tell us how forward thinking and innovative McDonald's are for launching this.
