People will complain about anything. Who actually cares about the phones they are using?
The BBC has defended the multiple showings of BlackBerry devices on Wednesday night's episode of The Apprentice, following complaints from viewers on Twitter.

It's not the BBC's fault that every serious businessman has one.

Unless LS has a specific deal with Blackberry to supply TA with phones for product placement in the series, then there isnt anything to complain about atm.

I am surprised people havent complained about the car maker that ferries the contestants around.

Good job the people who complained dont watch the US apprentice...they would have a heart attack at the product placement that goes on in that version.

I couldn't care less whether or not the BBC plugged the BlackBerry. What offended me more was the decline in general intelligence signified by anyone at all downloading the moronic trash produced by the the two teams.

Do the people who complain really care?

They really must have empty lives.

I cared more about the task and the contestants than noticing what brand the mobile phones were.

I noticed they were different to the phones in that last series. Only because the phones used previously were the same as my old one.

I agree, unless the task is about Mobile Phones. Proof that some will always moan at the BBC regardless how trivial the complaint. If TA was on ITV no one would bat an eyelid ove what Mobile Phone brand they were using.

why not use a blackberry though? bb's are some of the best phones for using apps on, also alot of business people use them, androids are considerably not as popular and not as used as blackberry by this class of people, also iPhone is something they could have used but the apps would have taken much more longer to get up and running on the app store than on blackberry.

I wonder why these people don't complain about all the channels keep talking about Twitter and Facebook on most of their shows? It's even to the point of saying you can contact us and be involved using them. Isn't that just blatant advertising for them?

Just shows how crap Blackberry's app store is really, if anyone can put apps up in there in less than a day, there can't be anything of the control and security and app checking like the Apple app store has - try getting something in there in less than a week let alone overnight. Blackberry clearly very insecure

Or, they promote the basic freedoms that every developer should have, by letting them put anything they want out there, and letting downloaders have the choice.

Apple follows the "walled gardens" approach of people like Rupert Murdoch. That's why everybody hates them.

Imagine you couldn't start a business with your own money because somebody at the front gate didn't like your idea.

They used to use Nokias previously.

I hadn't realised that they'd changed.

It's amazing what people will complain about.

The joke is on whoever complained as they have just given Blackberrys a hole load of extra promotion.

That's it! From now on I will only accept the candidates using Semaphore Flags to communicate, or (if you've been trained with the Dalai Lama's arsenal of esoteric skills) telepathy.

That's plugging psychic powers. I think two cans on a string would be less offensive.
