Why has Britain's Got Talent been so boring this year?

I think one of the main problems is that the show's been on air for what, 5/6 years?
So we've seen pretty much every variety of act we could see.

Body popping dancers? Amazing the first time, yawn now.
Dancing to unusual music and theme songs? ...
Gymnastics, karate, young singers with mature voices...

And it always seems to be singers and dancers that make it to the finals anyway.
I mean what's the point of making it a variety show if the same genre of acts are going to win year in year out

I think you are right. If a tipping point has been reached its the fact that alot of viewers have moved from being genuinely enthusiastic about watching the show to now watching as a default hoping to match past glories. After all there is little to pull them away elsewhere.

I'd like to see a ventriloquist or magician win this year. Have there been any?

Seen most if it before. Nothing really different.

OK - I have a new theory... Let me know what you think guys!

Part of the problem is that previous winners or finalists - eg Spelbound, Diversity and Twist 'n' Pulse - were already celebrated in their field.

Whether it was the world champion standard of Spelbound (Entered the 2008 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships); Diversity (won Street Dance Weekend 2007); Twist 'n' Pulse (Ashley - Twist - who performed at The World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas) they've all got a history of success far beyond BGT.

AFAIK - but quite happy to be proved wrong - this far into the BGT series, we're yet to see anybody of this standard. Clearly those who know they're good feel that this show's time has come.

I love this show but even I feel that there's been nobody this year who have given me the "wow" feeling. (Usually accompanied by me bursting into years at their talent, but that's another story.)

I think no real talent, that stands out, and I miss simon on the panel, but maybe its had its day now.

There werent any funny laugh out loud moments like in the past, no really funny acts. Dont know why. Too many run of the mill acts. If an act was just above average they put them through. Much better acts in Americas got talent.
