I decided to change from Virgin to BT after talking to a rep from BT.
Our one agreement was NO DIRECT DEBITS so I was surprised when asked for my card details so I refused.
Two days later another person phoned and explained is was as an insurance to safeguard the cost of the receiver in case it was a fraudilant application so I agreed double checking that no money would be drawn.
The next day I went to get my pension to be told that I had insufficent funds, I knew that there was over £500 the day before and I then found out that £366 was frozen but they couldn't tell me by who until they ask for it.I contacted BT as the money was asked for on the previous day at the time I was talking to BT, they said that they would be in touch within a few hours but nothing!
I am still waiting for a reply from BT
This is before I get the Hub and receiver, is this the way it will go?
We will have a lean week ahead, thanks BT!

I know for BT Vision you need a Direct Debit set up...they should have told you that.

Also I've never heard of BT taking £366...I know they do sometimes require deposits but they are usuallly only between £50-£150. I know BT told you why they were requiring your card details but did your bank confirm that it was them who have taken the money(sorry if I missed in your post)

I have BT Vision without DD / or credit card details, all I did was to select "add payment to account" when I signed up, but that was 2 years ago.

I got through to BT again, they have stated that they didn't apply for the £366, funny how it was put through at the same time as i was talking to BT!
The bank still cannot tell me who has blocked the money and I must wait until someone tries to claim it, suspecting a card scam I have had to change my cards and wait for a week for replacements......

After my last call to BT about my problems with getting my equipment ordered & delivered , I was assured that it would all be delivered today, this was confirmed by letter & Email.
I was told it could be anytime between 7am ---6pm
I sat there from 6-00 and the BT Vision Rx was delivered at 11-30, the BT hub however was not with it so I sat there until 6-30pm but no hub!
I phoned the number given and was told that the hub had not been ordered!
I have been given a delivery date as the 25 May, when asked who not tomorrow I was told the office is shut but if I had phoned before 5-00pm it would have been tomorrow, but you are told in the letter NOT TO PHONE BEFORE 6-00pm.

For a large firm I have never had such CRAP SERVICE.
When I was in business my CUSTOMERS CAME FIRST, they paid my wages!

Hub arrived on the 25th so I connected up but couldn't get the wireless working on the Toshiba laptop, spent 2 hours with technical then gave up! hardwired ok.
Set up BT Vision, all ok so tried to connect RF out to feed TV upstairs but the Modulator doesn't appear to be adjustable or working, only Aerial feedthrough. What a pain!
Finely got the Toshiba working on wireless, one success.......
All the programmes we asked about are missing, will give it until 5 June to see if BT try to activate a DD and take a payment even though they insist they will not but when I checked at the bank they had set one up. If they do then I will have had enough and we will go back to our old supplier.................
