I think someone needs a term at ITVista Finishing School...

George - standards are slipping...!

It's a compilation of unseen items left over from the recent series.

Last weekend's edition was a compilation of previously seen items.

It looks as though some of the unseen items will be left unseen, though, because they've chopped fifteen minutes off the programme.

500k in the 16-34 range for Pop Star vs 222k for The Royal - so its clear why it got the 8pm slot.”

The Royal's demos are bad, but it isn't a ratings disaster and ITV1 won't care when its run finishes as 4.5 million is respectable on a summer night. Also no doubt ITV3 will be showing repeats soon.
However, the older C2DE audience isn't such a bad thing as many are a lot better off than the older ITV audience 30 years ago. Most will have paid off their mortgages and their kids have left home, so they will have a fair disposable income.

Case Histories ought timeshift better, can see a lot of people recording on series link to watch parts 1 and 2 together. It is on the most popular iPlayer programmes (interestingly the movies - Kill Bill 2 and A Lot Like Love are both popular on iPlayer also).

Can see Junior Doctors scoring 3m easily tonight - most people tend to avoid BBC3 showings, though Injustice will win the slot by 2m clear viewers. Animal Kingdom will get lowest primetime (on BBC1/ITV1) of the evening maybe 2.2m - expecting EE to win the night easily by 2m more than Emmerdale - which will have ITV1 highest rating tonight. Nothing exciting to watch just regular programmes, a back to normal Tuesday for ITV1.

The only 2 programmes I will take the time to watch are Eastenders and Jamie's Food Revolution Hits Hollywood - nothing else appeals - will watch Case Histories on catch up maybe.

No, but you can see why it was axed.

Maybe most or all of the extra viewers who saw Coronation St at 9pm last week were just tolerating it because they'd watched Talent, and they wanted to stick around for the results.

The demos aren't bad - they are awful. The problem with C2DEs is that they watch too much tv!

And since you can reach C2DE's very easily - they watch a lot of tv - why would you go to the expense of a show such as The Royal to reach them? You already have endless ITV shows with high C2DE reach.

Nobodys stopping them - but since tv already over caters for them, why should channels go out of their way to make more shows for them?

It's just embarrassing that C4 does well when showing body programmes all the time. People are really obsessed with this type of stuff!

Have The Royal's demographics always been that way, or have scheduling changes over the years, on other channels (and ITV1 itself) worsened them?

That will double in the officials as per usual.

I wonder if Sky Atlantic had started with just one ad break in their one hour HBO shows, more would watch 'live'?

Compared to the first episode of Boardwalk in February which had four, the programme is now far more watchable 'off air'.

Still four breaks in the repeats though!!

Doctor Who needs a reboot. They need a new doctor and an assistant.

This is a strange appointment isn't it ?

Natasha Kaplinsky presenting an ITV entertainment show.

Looks like a decent appointment of panelists for The Marriage Ref however :

Does anyone know why HD viewing is so low for ITV1 shows that top the ratings. I checked ITV1 HD for the top 10 last BGT/ CS/ Emmerdale / CL / Scott & Bailey - they recorded 7-9% HD share compared to SD. BBC HD rates even worse, the Apprentice You're Fired - less than 3% watched in HD for the simulcast. (3.427m v 106,000)

Does the BARB reporting panel represent fairly Virgin/Sky/Freeview. For example if 20% of homes have HD will 20% of BARB homes have it? Maybe the broadcasters need to publicise it more ie flash on screen Freeview/Sky/Virgin channel numbers?

I know some people cannot tell the difference watching a soap, but it is very apparent when you watch football or a recent film.

Even stranger when you consider that BBC HD is available in all regions and ITV1 HD isn't.

Doesn't help when the HD versions of the PSB channels are on different EPG numbers. Although BBC One HD, ITV1 HD, C4 HD and C5 HD are simulcasts so they have an advantage over BBC HD which schedules programmes from six channels.

Unfortunately, we never get to see the HD ratings where the SD and HD versions share the same number on the EPG (with Sky+HD that is).

I wonder how many posters on here who have HD always watch the HD versions? I certainly do.

I keep harping on about it, but I'm sure the DOGs have a bearing on HD take-up/viewing.

I won't subscribe to an HD service or upgrade to Freeview HD whilst the channels (at least the main BBC and ITV ones) have a channel logo burned onto the top corner, when I can watch a clean SD version instead.

Thought Lee Mack's show would be mid-evening, not post-watershed. Interesting.

Hopefully the content will be suitably "adult" then...
