Neighbours is still delivering the goods for 11!

Seven's really on a roll with both AuGT and DWTS performing great, Angry Boys held up well as well.

In regard to CBS's 2011-2012, the biggest and riskiest move is Person of Interest going to Thursdays. CBS must love it and think it's got a shot for them to give it that slot in its first season.

It's good to see CBS really getting behind a project that isn't a spin-off! It does add a bit of interest to their schedule and finally, to Thursdays at 9pm. Of course, it also puts a lot more pressure on the show to draw ratings. Even though CSI has been weak lately, it still set the bar so high in the many years it occupied that slot.

I expect it'll skew younger than CSI and I think Thursdays are up for grabs next season. ABC, CBS and FOX all have big new shows on the night and I think whichever is biggest, could determine who comes out on top on Thursdays.

I'm looking forward to it, people worry that because it's an JJ Abrams show it won't attract an audience but for CBS it's very marketable not only with Abrams but Jonathan Nolan and Jim Calviezel, I think it will get the biggest marketing push of all the CBS new shows.

I think it will be a case of the week show with an ongoing story arc, CBS wouldn't have picked it up had it been serialised,

If the story is accurate than i presume the show is for CBBC. Like you say, i can't believe they'd have a programme on primetime BBC One.

Interesting to note that the HBO presentation Lady Gaga Presents: The Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden is on Sky1 on Saturday and not Atlantic.

And as well as Vera, ITV have commissioned more Case Sensitive and The Suspicions of Mr Whicher.

Quote:
“ITV1 crime dramas The Suspicions Of Mr Whicher, Case Sensitive and Vera are all being lined up for a second outing, Broadcast understands.

Further additions to the detective stories - which all launched this year - are already in development and, although nothing has been greenlit, their return would represent a major boost for ITV’s refreshed crime slate.

It is understood that Hat Trick Productions is creating a single story following its adaptation of Kate Summerscale’s fact-based book The Suspicions Of Mr Whicher, which starred Paddy Considine.

The show was watched by a consolidated audience of 7.2 million (28% share) when it aired last month and ITV drama director Laura Mackie is keen for it to return because its Victorian setting complements the rest of the broadcaster’s crime output. It is not yet clear if Summerscale or Neil McKay, who adapted the novel for ITV, will be involved in the project.

In addition, Hat Trick is working on the follow-up to Case Sensitive, taken from Sophie Hannah’s The Point Of Rescue, which was critically well received and averaged 5.6 million (19% share) over its two-part run earlier this month.

The Other Half Lives is the second Hannah novel featuring male and female detective duo DS Charlie Zailer and DC Simon Waterhouse. It is thought the book could become another 2 x 60-minute serial, or potentially a two-hour special.

A recommission would vindicate Hat Trick’s decision to option all six of Hannah’s novels featuring Zailer and Waterhouse.

Finally, Vera producer Elaine Collins has revealed that ITV has paid for more scripts and a new series of the drama is “quite far into development”.

Speaking at a Northern Film & Media screening, star Brenda Blethyn also admitted she “can’t wait” to reprise her role as sleuth Vera Stanhope.

The adaptation of Ann Cleeves’ series of novels concludes this weekend, after pulling in 5.5 million (22%) viewers last Sunday - its biggest audience to date.”

Very pleased to see The Suspicions Of Mr Whicher turned into a series. I enjoyed that. Also pleased to see Poirot returning.

“ITV lines up new Poirot

Rumours of the death of Poirot, ITV’s long-running adaptation of the Agatha Christie detective, have been greatly exaggerated: ITV is actively developing a new film starring David Suchet as the moustachioed Belgian detective.

The network declined to name which book is up for adaptation, but Broadcast understands ITV has engaged scriptwriter Nick Dear to develop Dead Man’s Folly for a 1 x 120-minute episode for 2012.

Suchet, who has starred in 65 adaptations for ITV over the past 22 years, is set to reprise the role.”

I saw 2.9m but that's still low. It clashed with the soap awards though. Personally I never would have brought it back.

Very good rating for Waterloo Road last night. It is really lapping up this new 7:30pm timeslot with another 5m + rating in the bag. Although technically it finished at 8:27pm and the full slot rating was 4.9m, but seeing as I'm a Waterloo Road fan I'll go with 5.05m

Also the football on C5 did well for non-English teams. Not sure about the soap awards though, as I don't know what it normally gets.

Brilliant for The Apprentice to be at around 7m with the Soap Awards as competition and a dismal lead-in, and a Euro football final against it too.

I don't know what the soap awards usually get, but 5.23m doesn't seem very high.

A great deal of effort but not much lather I fear...

I don't no to but 5.23m seems like an OK ratting for a cheap show to run.
I think ITV should be happy with that.

And it will be back again next year.

Second lowest rating ever according to Broadcast.

I'm sure Jedward will be as capable presenters as Stacey Soloman, who allegedly has been auditioned for The Xtra Factor role as Operation Destroy from Within continues.

Some really good ratings last night-I expected WR to be about half a million lower, because of the 2nd half clashing with the soap awards. Shows what happens when it gets the head start.

Decent rating for the Soap Awards too, all things considered. The EL final did better than I expected too.

The only awful rating there is LOR, which definitely won't be coming back now. I just don't understand how it's performing so badly in a 5m/7m sandwich.

Poor scheduling though, as soap fans watching WR will have mostly flipped to the Soap Awards. Whilst Apprentice fans will have probably mostly tuned in specifically at 9pm.

LOR would be doing better at 7.30 I suspect, as it was before. There it benefitted from ITV post-soap filler. As WR is doing now.

8.30 is a no man's land slot for LOR. But in the scheme of things, boosting WR is probably the bigger priority for BBC1 and in that respect, the time change is working.
