I need some help, with all my TV, PVRs and Digiguide I managed to miss tonights episode of The Mentalist, and apparntly there is a repeat on Sunnday at 7pm on 5*, are there likely to be any cuts in that timeslot?

Quite the opposite I would say, what a monumental free advertising PR campaign his been able to make It just goes to show how clever Cowell is - you saying "5 days to auditions and still no judges confirmed" just proves that point. The contracts were probably signed ages ago. And this from an X Factor fan who's not really normally that cynical.

Why? normally I'd agree about all his actions being a publicity campaign, but in the US, this has hardly raised a ripple, they don't know who Cheryl is.

People have been saying that they won't watch because if they wanted to see Paula and Simon, they'd have watched American Idol. Of course most of these will have been snap judgements, but it's made more than a ripple.

I don't see why it is flawed. If you want to work out the reach, you can do, the audience measure is an agreed calculation. The beauty of BARB is you can look at it in any number of ways, so if you really wanted to you could look at Live plus only additional new unique audience... the audience measure is pretty standard and traded on by the industry and across the world.

And thats the whole point!! - she's not that well known - it's all about raising her profile. The countless will she/won't she be judging has only just started. We've been used to it for a few years on the UK show, but in the US it might have not "raised a ripple" but then next week "oh she is going to be a US judge now" the week after "no she's not" and so on. Do that a few times and her profile in the US will increase a bit more everyime, which is exactly what there'll be trying to do. It's spin - simple as..

Anyone who doubts Cowell is just wrong. The guy is a genius when it comes to PR and promotion. Cheryl gets axed from X Factor USA just days before his grand return to BGT Finals. X Factor UK will be fine, im sure he has got a national scandal lined for the autumn to boost that.

It annonys me how I fall for Cowells PR, I dont watch either show, yet I find it impossible not to be aware of whats happening, in the course of my normal day to day life, and day to day web surfing.

she isnt even 1/4 of the presenter that Ross was when he was on the BBC, and he has alot other of arrows to his bow, than she will ever have.

This "Voice" thing, is it even confirmed to be comissioned by the BBC? I thought it was only speculation? As we know the BBC budget for light ent makes it look cheap and cheerless at the best of times. With budget cuts I'm not sure how they can afford to hoover up every X Factor reject from Kelly to Sharon to Cheryl

I have not seen it CONFIRMED that the BBC is making a UK version of The Voice, but there is alot talk about it, which hasnt been corrected at any point.

As for what the BBC would have to pay her, well I can only assume that she would have to take a pay cut, as refusing to work for ITV would mean she cant claim she could get that amount at another channel, I dont see why C4 would want her, and she would be crazy to go to Channel 5, so moving to the BBC would mean she would have to accpet whatever they offer her.

The point about Ross is that his wage is differnt to hers, as he was never a one trick pony, ive yet to see Cheryl Cole stand on her own two feet, she is usually held up by Simon Cowell, and when that isnt the case, what she does is hardly worthwhile, and amounts to racail assulting a woman in a nightclub. (that was her right? )

Jesus I HOPE the BBC doesn't fork out any money for that talentless, vacuous moron. Honestly the girl has had a VERY lucky break, to be as famous as she is, but it's absolutely not based on talent or intellect or presenting ability, Please let her stay on ITV where I don't have to look at her.

She would be mad to leave X-Factor UK because of X-Factor USA, she was a total nobody in the states, so its no real surprise, the network wasnt willing to go with her, I all but said at the time, that Nicole S. was the US version of her, and im surprised she is the host and not a judge, cant help but feel there was a reason that was correcetd.
