Rugby Union.

Not a variation on those downhill cheese-rolling events.

Was it on BBC NI too considering it was two Irish teams in the Magners League Final?

I've just had a look at the BBC website, and BBC Two NI showed golf.

F1 set to go way past 3:15pm on BBC1. Yesterday's Qualifying peaked with a mammoth 4.0m between 13:45 and 14:15.

I guess Rugby Union would bring in more viewers than egg rolling.

Oh yes in the eighties I used to collect the ratings Top 20 out of my grandparents copy of The Sun and used to lap up stories like BBC1 RATINGS COLLAPSE and EASTENDERS WALLOPS THE STREET.

ITV's glorious weekend, with BGT going daily tonight and another audience of 10 million at least guaranteed tonight. What a change from a few years ago when at this time of year ITV relied on such filler as The Coronation St Family Album and reality shows that should have been on ITV2. I do think ITV1 have reversed their long decline and are hitting back.

Geordie Shore to be complained about in Parliament (which should guarantee more viewers).

EastEnders started at 3.35pm, 15 minutes late, due to the Grand Prix crashes.
Pirates Of The Caribbean is still announced as starting at 9pm, so maybe BBC1 could lose Points Of View or the regional news to catch up.

so this suggests that the people of Essex dont mind being assocaited with The Only Way is Essex, and that apparntly Newcastles has no other problems, which they felt might be worth discussing in Parliament, of course that may change if local hero Cheryl Cole is forced to be the only person signing on at the local job centre, after the big mean SImon Cowell sacked her from X-Factor USA, none the less im sure the community will rally around her.

Agreed, the figures reflect the way that viewers are exploring and taking advantage of new ways to watch broadcast TV rather than being tied to a fixed schedule dictated by the broadcasters.

Cheryl Cole has reportedly rejected the chance to return to UK X Factor, according to numerous sources, including Sky News:

she is mad not to return.

Never mind the general population, there are plenty of well known people, musicians & celebrities in general who would kill for her role on the show.

Honestly one of my faults is that I tend to quit things when something I dont like happens, and well she is about to do just that, expet for a much higher paid and higher profile role, than anything ive quit before, madness.

I'll not be surprised if she shows up on Wednesday morning, tbh. If she is returning, it pays for both sides to make it look like she made them work for it.

But it'll be a bit of a blow if she doesn't come back because all the attention has shifted to her returning now, I doubt most even have any idea who the new judges are meant to be! And I'm not entirely sold on the new panel, tbh.

I can't see her being on The Voice either. I know it's involved with Universal but like Dannii, she just doesn't fit the role that they're after.

Nigel Lythgoe has some spare time now that SYTYCD is getting axed. Perhaps he'll produce a new series of Pop Idol with Dannii & Cheryl as judges!

Good job its a Bank Holiday so they can displace it.

Extended graph of the 15-minute breakdown shows what a difference the F1 made to BBC1 yesterday: http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/7271/28thmay.png

Pointless Views is pretty irrelevant anyway. Its just BBC senior exec's patronising viewers

I liked it when Terry Wogan did it. Not keen on the new format with Grapey Vine and all the video segments.

Best when Barry Took hosted it.

My posts are made up of a series of facts and opinions, just like everyone else on here. I have no interest in spinning anything. Whilst you were slagging me off, you neglected to mention the other ways I contribute to this community - the DSRPG (which, last time I checked, you yourself are a regular player of), the near daily Australian ratings reports, posting other data and analysis related to the UK market, programming and scheduling data, etc. If you're that unhappy with my posts, just put me on ignore. But I will not have you or anyone else for that matter totally dismiss my contribution just because I don't go along with the general view of refusing to acknowledge Channel 5 or only acknowledging Channel 5 to be negative about it.

I agree with you that rzt is an example of one of the better posters on here. But he's not "neutral", rzt has preferences just like everyone else. Furthermore, rzt is one of many posters who bring a lot to the table. Off the top of my head ZoeMcCallister, C14E, dave01 and Score stand out- and they scarcely get credit for their input. It's a collective effort really. And whilst I don't always agree with GeorgeS or RobbieSykes123, the place would be poorer without them.

I don't really have a bias now. When I first joined here, I was very anti ITV, not because I loved the BBC, but because their programmes and ratings were going down the drain. Now I'm more positive about ITV1 as people like Peter Fincham have made such a difference and they now have a series of hits in genres other than soaps. If anything, the television channel that I don't like now is Channel 4, which is becoming totally repetitive.

I will confess to a slight anti-ITV bias, but with what I consider to be a good reason

I am sure you are all shocked by the above.

Back to the business at hand, each of the big three commercial broadcasters had reasons to be cheerful last night. The match was a big pull on ITV, and seems to put an end to the idea that the Saturday scheduling of the CL final is necessarily much worse for ratings potential than say a midweek final (although I'm sure many more will have watched it down the pub). Meanwhile C4's Million Pound Drop and C5's CSI: NY were as strong as ever. Bit low for the cricket on C5, but during the week it is boosting the slot average. Titanic rated well for C4.

Not a great night for the BBC. Even for overnight standards that Dr Who rating is pretty low. Casualty struggled, unsurprisingly with the competition. And SYTYCD absolutely tanked again. BBC Two did alright though.

Good post dancc. Sometimes the minority broadcasters need a bit of exposure on here.

Still amazed that last night's football discussion is based on the fact that ITV1 was the sole broadcaster of the match and to many you would think Sky doesn't exist.

Unfortunately, we still don't have last night's figures, but based on previous years, we could be looking at 15% share for Sky Sports.

You wouldn't believe reading this thread that the majority of UK homes have pay TV and the majority of their time is watching channels other than the main five.
