any international sale is of course good for ITV Studios, it wont be long before this shows gets a UK version, seems a bit of an odd fit for FOX however.

ITV Studios have scored another series order at FOX.

First we had the breakout hit that was Pawn Stars on History. They followed it up with American Pickers. Since then we've had Auction Kings, Storage Wars, Auction Hunters, What The Sell?! and best of all, Hardcore Pawn. (There's more on Wikipedia, I just lost the will to keep listing them!)

FOX have made sure they're... erm... like 14th in the queue. "Buried Treasure, a new unscripted series starring antiques experts and appraisers Leigh and Leslie Keno (identical twin brothers of Antiques Roadshow fame), who travel across the country to help people sell collectibles lying around their homes."

It joins other ITVS productions on FOX, Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

Can anyone enlighten me on how Sky Atlantic is doing?

Particularly interested in the Chicago Code, Blue Bloods and the ER re-run (though the latter is on more than the formers)

I'm surprised they got Caroline as she ruled it out not long ago as she wanted to continue with the I'm A Celebrity spin-off. I guess she decided that Xtra Factor was a better gig. I like her though and whilst Olly Murs seems a very random choice, he could do pretty well as he's got the right sort of personality for that sort of show.


BGT wasn't bad tonight but it wasn't as good as yesterday. Simon throwing a strop would've caused a bit of a stir but I don't think anyone would have really cared - BGT isn't really like TXF in that drama like that doesn't really help it. Plus I think he genuinely liked Jean, and I don't think they screwed up the final line up by putting her through. Tomorrow's line up looks a little bit better than tonight's on paper but that's on paper of course, as tonight's results were nothing like what I predicted before the show, but some acts were better than expected and others were worse. There was a point about halfway through (after the Britney woman) where they'd had 3 dire performances in a row and things didn't look promising but it perked up in the second half. I think the performances will be a million or so down on last night for various reasons (weather, EE starting at 7:30). Corrie and the results won't be down as much but will probably both be just below 10m. How it goes for the rest of the week depends on the weather, and as the forecast is good I think it'll decrease a bit over the week regardless of quality.


I agree about Michael, he's fantastic and I'd be very surprised if ITV aren't eyeing up a Saturday night show for him. He wouldn't need to be on an exclusive contract though so he could still do Comedy Roadshow for BBC1 if he wanted to. I notice BBC1 have very cleverly scheduled an episode of Comedy Roadshow for Saturday at 10pm, straight after the BGT final ends. That could do very well for them (maybe their highest rating of the day).

Olly Murs was very entertaining when he co-hosted The Chris Moyles Show recently. No doubt Caroline will do the lion's share of the presenting and Olly will chip in as a sort of sidekick. Good choices IMO.

It might run Sunday/ Monday over the BH, continue on Mondays and then it'd be nearly over by the time Doc Martin would be expected to start.

However DM filming will complete much earlier (in about 3 weeks if not already wrapped up) this time than in 2009(still at it in August for September TX), so ITV may have the option of starting earlier too.

Lots of good drama this Autumn on both sides, good problem to have...


By the day it airs, it will have had 6 weeks and one day of trailers, a record. Not mainstream enough for the Sun/Mon slot though and apparently much darker than last time. It's not going to set the world on fire ratings wise wherever it went so it may as well stay on Tuesdays. I think the trailer overload was to remind people Drama is coming, not a lot of it about in May...

Interesting breakdowns for last night. Talent seemed to climb throughout even during Eastenders so it looks like the clash didn't dent it much. Overall Talent rated well and the Egypt doc did well against BGT too. Tonight I expect Eastenders will fare better as it started at the 19:30 junction with Emmerdale and Holby City will probably be around the high 3 millions mark like last year's 3.81m was.

Blue Bloods has been very consistent, I think it's taken the number two spot every week - firstly behind Boardwalk and now Game of Thrones.

For its top two showings, it's pulling in around 600k each week.

ER occasionally makes the top ten.with the 6pm showing, but across the four airings for each episode per week I would reckon about 100k+.

does anyone have the ratings for the last series of 2 pints on BBC3?

Blimey, I remember when ER was on Channel 4 and was getting 2m+.

It's ER from the very beginning, about 10 years old!

Surely it was getting more than that back in 1995 when it started in the UK?

Luckily, the makers decided to shoot ER in16:9 on 35mm.

So whereas the first seven or so seasons were shown in 4:3, they've been able to re-master them in 16:9 and HD.

Only having top tens on multichannels makes it very difficult to estimate multiple showings of lower rated programmes, especially if several showings of a couple of 'big' shows dominate the chart.

Theoretically, ER could have had four showings of 92k each, but who knows? Mr. BARB and those who pay him well.

Ah, fair enough!


For 2006, the World Cup Final had 260 million, so quite a bit popular that Eurovision!

Bit low for BGT there, with the performances show down 0.5m y-o-y and the results down 0.8m. Even worse, it was 1.6m (performances) and 1.0m (results) down on Monday. I expected a drop but both were about 0.5m below my expectations. The weather clearly hit it hard and it also hit the opposition, as pretty much everything floundered. BGT's share was down on Monday though suggesting there were other factors against it too. I'll be interested to see what Corrie got, particularly as the gap between the two BGT shows was much smaller last night.
