Wow, Geordie Shore increased!! Last week it was 345k including +1, yesterday it was 345k not including +1.... anyone know what it got on MTV+1? We have a huge hit on our hands!!

BGT down quite a lot about 1.5m from the first semi finale's performances! Quite a sharp drop. I think today it may even fall beneath 9m with the weather.

Corrie is doing well so far this week. It had almost the same audience yesterday as the night before and both episodes are up y-o-y. Seems to be that BGT's loss is Corrie's gain.

Like last year, Channel 4 was severely dented for all of its programmes and C5 managed to slip past it in the primetime shares, even with Supersize Grime rating that poorly. BBC2's lineup rated well, especially the ever reliable Springwatch.

I Think the Britain's got Talent performance show might be up form yesterday because it's not against Eastenders but the results show might be down a bit.

EDIT: Just noticed that Primeval rating on Watch! Not sure if they'll be funding any more new drama!
I never watch any of the UKTV channels. To me they're just repeats of BBC programmes, that I didn't even care to watch originally!!

Sticking in new commissions, on what's ostensibly a repeat network, is always going to be difficult.

At the risk of you boring us for hours on +1 channels (again...) +1 is different to repeat screenings. Since if I used my PVR to delay my viewing by 1 hour that would have been counted in the figures in 2010, why should my using ITV1+1 instead of my PVR to watch from 8.30 be any different?
Because them's the rules.

If you elect to watch a +1 channel, you are watching a different channel, whether you like it or not. +1 channels also capture casual viewers who haven't made a conscious decision to timeshift, whereas PVR viewing only captures those who have made a decision to catch a show later by recording it.

Nobody forced ITV to launch a +1 channel, you know!

But I agree on one thing. Constantly debating the argument gets us nowhere...

Then why did you bring it up again? You exclude +1 in your posts, George includes it in his posts, I don't see the problem with that as there is no clear right answer that everyone is going to agree on so we may as well leave it and let everyone have their own view on it.

The Corrie audience thing is interesting, should it be on at 21:30, would it have a bigger inheritance?

I know we debated the amount of ads yesterday, but from a ratings perspective, would it work? Because I think after the performances I think people would just drift out and some would come back at 21:20, leaving Corrie with a smaller inheritance.

rzt, do you have a breakdown from say 20:45 to 21:45 on Monday? I'd be interested to see how much the audience fluctuated during the 20:55 and 21:25 breaks. (don't forget also DS's Monday ratings were not tape-checked whereas Tuesday's were)

Really interesting ITV figures there. Really strong share for Emmerdale & considering how low BGT was I didn't expect Corrie to be over 10m! People seem to be more captivated by the John Stape confession than the acts on BGT. Can't say I'm too surprised really considering the general quality of the acts this year is very poor. The actual production, judges, guest acts is great, but the one thing they can't control that much is failing.

BBC1 held up OK. EE and Holby were always going to be considerably down and Panorama did pretty well for a one off and actually up on what it gets in its Monday slot.

Apart from Supersize Grime, the CSI's did extremely well hardly dented at all. I guess the 8pm slot will be heavily dented this week, when it's been sub 1m without ~10m watching on ITV1.

If they were to do one combined show, a way to get around that problem could be to have the guest performing first thing at about 7.35pm to get that out of the way as soon as possible when viewers are settling down to watch the show, meaning that the gap between the performances and results would be smaller ensuring more people stick around. It would basically be like how the live shows used to be for the first three series but just with the guest performing first. I dunno if I'm remembering correctly, but a couple of TXF performance shows in the past may have had guests performing first as well, and that didn't seem to harm their ratings.

Here's the breakdown from Monday:

Here's the breakdown from Monday:
Thanks for that.

Based on the 9pm hour breakdown, both Corrie and BGT Results should timeshift a lot, because excluding the breaks and the early finishes, Corrie's rating is 10.93m, while BGT Results' rating is 10.45m, up 0.51m and 0.41m from the full slot overnights.

Apart from the break dips though, those that tuned into Corrie appeared to stay there.

D.M.N you seem to know a lot about TV Ratings Do you think Yesterday's Britain's got Talent will get over 10 million in the officials.

BGT 40% share, still looking pretty good to me.

I do enjoy the daily +1 debate. That RobbieSykes123 takes such significant comfort from eliminating such tiny crumbs always makes the day.

By the way Gary Barlow has just arrived at XF auditions. On Sky News now.

Yeah, it should comfortably get over 10m. Last year's Tuesday ratings went from 9.82m and 9.52m to 11.16m and 10.23m. (the latter of those excludes HD)

I'm sure Robbie's delighted that X Factor continues to dominate the news agenda.

Gary will do better at "eliminating crumbs" from the TXF ratings than I ever could...

Ken Barlow would have been a more riveting choice.

The gap from the performances to the results seems to be growing for BGT this year. Which would suggest tonights results could do particularly badly when faced with The Apprentice. I can see a considerable number switching over and not coming back.

Even the past 2 years where the semi-finals have been poor, the final has always had 10 good acts. The 2 kid singers through so far are alright but the pianist is average (and dull) and Jean is just ridiculous (would make sense if they tried to make some controversy out of it, but they didn't). The magicians should definitely have been through and the bike guy would have been better as well.

Wow, Geordie Shore increased!! Last week it was 345k including +1, yesterday it was 345k not including +1.... anyone know what it got on MTV+1? We have a huge hit on our hands!!
what is wrong with people?

EE ratings are interestin, over all they do seem to be down, inetersting how many were saying it would be up, as last year had the awful teen week, this isnt the case.

As for BGT, I left a room today, group of chavvy looking girls were discussing it, I got bored and left, did try to take the smarter girl with me, who said she wasnt interested, but apparntly she wasnt intersted in Doctor Who either.

Those figures might be slightly alarming for ITV bosses. Britain's Got Talent being down on Monday. What is pleasing though is how Coronation Street is out rating BGT. I didn't expect that. Swings and roundabouts there for ITV.

The BBC One output was predictably dented and Eastenders down on YoY episodes, including the repeat showing on BBC Three.

Good night though for BBC Two. Lead Balloon's return seemed to do well. Not sure how that compares to previous series though.

Channel 4 seemed to suffer the most overall last night however, Channel 5 didn't fare so badly.

90210 seems to be faring quite well on E4 and Geordie Shore actually increases it's audience WoW on MTV. Primeval seems to be all but over. Watch is never going to be the best home for it. I presume it is repeated on ITV1 later this year?

Lets face it Primeval on Watch was always going to flop, ITV will repeat it, but I am sure many fans like myself will have loosened the purse strings, and got the DVD.

Please tell me they didn't have it as breaking news. That really would be tragic.

EastEnders is down on last year but Mondays was slightly up.
Of course Thursday and Fridays could be up on last year and of course we will see a rise on the Sunday Omnibus

Fridays EastEnders was at what just over 7 million so really it has lost only 2 million and no doubt will be back up to 8/9 million on Monday next week
