Shocked at how low (comparatively) BGT rated last night. Did not expect that at all after Monday. Corrie held up extremely well in comparison.

The BBC seems to be coping well in the circumstances, with some decent figures once again for last night. I think Waterloo Road and The Apprentice may surprise a few people tonight by how robust they turn out to be. I worry for the already vulnerable Life of Riley though.

From what i gather people are enjoyed with Simon cowell right now
due to everything with The X Factor.

The BBC Has held up very well the past 2 days and i think Waterloo road starting against BGT could be interesting as surely they have both a young Audiance?

Corrie could very well be dented by the Apprentice tonight

I don't get why people Think Britain's got talent did badly last night. It got 9 million the most watched show last night and it should get over 10 million in the officals as well.

Corrie was most watched.
Just flicked through forum but i gather that BGT lost viewers from Monday and people turned off last night after Corrie

Corrie was the #1 show last night

Given that the last few episodes rated better than last year's, I think people are just surprised that ratings were down by as much as 8% compared to the same episodes in 2010. Of course 9/10m is big but by its own standards, it was a relatively low rating. BGT usually drops in the ratings for its Tuesday episodes but the 1.5m drop is quite big compared to last year's 0.3m Monday to Tuesday drop and 2009's 0.9m drop, so it probably should've retained more of Monday's audience last night.

It will be interesting to see how Corrie fares on ITV1+1 tonight, I assume it will be higher than usual.

I think ITV's whole 9pm hour is going to take a big hit from that. The better Corrie holds up, the better BGT will hold up for the results. Unless the promise of... ummm... Avril Lavigne, is enough to keep viewers hanging around for half an hour.

I can't see there being too large an audience crossover between Crrie and The Apprentice but there is definitely more of one between TA and BGT. Corrie will probably be at least 1.5m ahead of BGT Results tonight. Cowell will be furious if it's ahead of the performances again though!

Avril Lavigne is a really poor booking too. They should have put more effort in with the guests and promoted them (Shrek worked well last night in fairness though). It's Jessie J tomorrow and JLS on Friday apparently, who at least are big names in this country at the moment, so they might help the results shows a little bit. As for the final, they're having two guests and one of them is Nicole Scherzinger. The other hasn't been announced yet but a big name could help them get audiences in at 9:30pm rather than 9:50pm.

Well that seems silly. He's just a cold hard business man at the end of the day.

Yep I think so, which is why Waterloo Road fell below 3m (for the first and only time?) this time last year. I don't think it will suffer anywhere near as badly this time because it's rating better than ever in its new slot and they both start at the same time, unlike last year where BGT had a half an hour head start.

I think the BGT results show will be dented more. Both BBC shows are in a strong position going into tonight's clash because both are generally up on last year, whereas BGT is down. ITV will still win comfortably of course, but I'm expecting the BBC to make considerable year-on-year gains, with The Apprentice likely to come in at least 50% higher than Junior Apprentice last year (a 6m+ rating will achieve that). Corrie's clearly hooked the nation with its current storyline and so it will probably stay high all week.

Looking to the US, the provisional numbers suggest that The Voice improved significantly last night (up to an 8.8 HH rating from a 5.6 rating) and that AGT was up on last year (9.2 compared to 8.0 last year). The actual numbers should be in soon but NBC will be thrilled if they reflect the improvement shown in the provisionals. Piers Morgan is boasting on Twitter already!

I actually think we could see The Apprentice within 1m/1.5m of the results show tonight. Maybe about ~6m for The Apprentice and ~7.5m for Got Talent.

Unless I'm under-estimating Got Talent.

This popped up at work yesterday and they were saying how he treated Cheryl and everything but then i had to stick my 2p worth it and say it serves her right because
she was happy enough to dump the UK for America and now it's backfired she wasn't to know us again.

The new 7:30pm slot for Waterloo road has done well and hope they hold up tonight the cancer storyline is brilliant.

I've watched Corrie all this week so far

What 7.5m for the main show or for the results?

so many people predicting the demise of BGT tonight. I'd say the sky will be dark with thr wings of the chickens coming home to roost tomorrow morning.

Possibly The Voice's highest to date? Should at least be 2nd. Although it can be hard to tell with these household numbers.

Positive news going into the live shows next week. I'll bet Simon is just thrilled that the AGT lead-in could help out!

Didn't want to watch Holby whille having dinner

As for BGT, I left a room today, group of chavvy looking girls were discussing it, I got bored and left, did try to take the smarter girl with me, who said she wasnt interested, but apparntly she wasnt intersted in Doctor Who either.”

What do you mean what is wrong with people regarding Geordie Shore?

Well AGT had a 4.2 with 4.9 for The Voice. Excellent ratings for both, although The Voice not quite as high as it was at 9pm, but it definitely bodes well for next week. Interestingly, The Voice climbed a lot in total viewers to 14.37m, meaning that whilst it still skewed young the skew was a little older than it has been due to the older skewing lead in.

At least some are brave enough to make proper predictions, instead of putting out meaningless quotes in the mistaken hope of sounding clever.

why are people watching it? I assume its on at 9pm, they could have been watching CSI on Channel 5 or Superbrands on BBC 3, Panorama on BBC 1, heck they could even have been watching Chuck on 5*, why do they need to watch Jordie Shore?

Interesting how much change there was in The Voice's skew. For previous episodes, about 60% of its audience was made up of 18-49s whereas last night it was 45%. I think this is good in a way because the AGT lead-in seems to have introduced more people to the show, whilst still skewing young-ish too. It could turn out to become a 'total viewers' hit as well as '18-49' hit once it moves to 9pm.

It's on at 10pm. It's addictive and entertaining despite people being outraged, in the big picture, the "outrage" boosted the ratings at the end of the day and people came back. The next highest MTV broadcast recently was at around 100k (Jersey Shore), It's car crash TV and it's brilliant.
