Where would i be able to find some? Doesn't matter if pre-recorded, recorded onto by someone or blank.

Yes, it wasn't exactly hard to find suppliers.

I take it you haven't typed "Minidisc" into Google?. It brings up loads of suppliers including Ebay, Amazon, Play.com, Superfi and even CPC, that new online/catalogue company.

All this minidisc talk makes me miss mine. It's packaged in the loft. It may work it's way into a sound system again at some point

CPC have been around for many many years but they're not the cheapest outlet for Minidiscs or many other things but they're quick and have a large range in one place.Last lot of discs I bought from Amazon, biggest hassle is wading through all the listings to find one that applies a sensible post&packing charge for the damned things. All formats still available including the HIMD 1GB discs although they're become rather expensive.A couple of years ago our Sainsbury's were selling 10 disc packs for a nice low price as they were trying to clear them out,I raised a few eyebrows when I asked if I could buy those remaining in stock at the store, lots of Nectar points as well..

New as in for a number of years they were primarily aiming at trade buyers but in the last few years have been advertising to us mere mortals.

My hi-fi Minidisc player, 60 discs and portable player haven't quite reached the loft but I don't envisage ever using them again.

Just bought 5 disks of Amazon. I find minidiscs ideal for archiving radio programmes, especially older comedies from 4extra; 5 half hours fit snuggly on a disk in mono mode. And with full editing out of the announcer without the need for a computer, well what's not to like.

CPC is aimed at the hobbyist and tinkerer I feel.Farnell who are the main company that own CPC deal with the more specialist side, now seem to call themselves Element 14 for some unearthly reason.Still they carried the parts I needed to repair a Panasonic Freeview recorder when nobody else could be bothered so I don't care about the name really.

You can download stuff from bbc using

http://www.nerdoftheherd.com/tools/radiodld/

then put them on to CD.
But MDs are still good to use.

Thanks for that fmradiotuner1, I will look into it. I currently PVR programmes so I don't have to bother remembering when they are on (just look them up on the EPG as the BBC seems to be set to random) and then decant them to minidisc when I get the chance. But you will only be able to get 2 half hour shows on a CD compaired to a minidisc which will do 5 in mono, 5 in stereo LP2 and more in LP4. The quality of these long play modes is good enough for the quality of the digital broadcasts. I used to use the music sync function and the timer mode on an old on-digital box to record programmes when I was out and as such built up a large number of disks.
