Aldi Video Sender

Hi

Seeing the recommendation for the Aldi 28" TV took me to their website where I found they are selling a video sender for £29.99

http://uk.aldi.com/special_buys/product_334.html

Has anyone bought this? Can you give me a brief rundown on picture quality, ease of connection etc, value for money etc.

Thanks.

Hi I bought the video sender about a year ago and have to say im very impressed, very easy to set up, and the picture quality is very good.
Infact i am that impressed i am going to buy another set just so i can add an additional receiver to my other tv in another room.

If I were to buy two sets, could I use the 2 receivers with just one of the senders?

Hi, Yes I believe you can add upto 3 receivers to one transmitter. On the side of the unit it has a small switch labelled A-C, the first receiver you match to the transmitter i.e. A , the second receiver you set to channel B, third to C and so on. I will be getting my new set tomorrow so I can confirm all this by Fri but im sure this is the case.

so that'll mean you have to flick the switch if you change room?

Not sure I want to spend £30 per room, I might just get one (until next year..??).

I may have my info wrong it may be a matter of the TX is set to say channel A, and all the RX's set to A will receive the transmitted signal and no switching maybe necassary (can confirm tonight as my other half is off to get my 2nd set of units tonight ).

That would be much better. I may pop down for 9am and get at least one anyway, perhaps 2, could return one if it doesn't work how I want it to.

Do you know if it connects via Scart or Coax?

It's been a while since i connected my original setup so i cant really remeber what it came with. I think it came with a scart thru type connecter and phono leads (good for the main TV) .The second tv should have phono or scart and away you go ....

I got just one video sender. Took me ages to set it up, thought the signal wasn't getting through, so tried them next to each other, thought the frequency was different on each device, that was it, nope still not working.

Hang on what's that on/off switch... doh.

Well ! my remote extender doesn't have an on/off switch, just plug it in and it works. Besides our IT technician at work did exactly the same with his, so I don't feel quite so big a fool...
