Orange Upgrade Problem - huge bill!

Hi all,

I'm new here and was after a bit of help..

I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem as me...

I upgraded my orange phone and talk plan back in March, did it via the website, received my phone a few days later and started using it as normal (well a bit more because I had more mins/texts etc)

I get my bill then for £168! They said that I went over my inclusive minutes and texts - I said no I hadnt because I've upgraded - they said my upgrade plan didn't start until 8 April (about 3 weeks after I had the phone!)

I had nothing delivered with the phone saying that would be the case and no emails either - checked my emails and can't find anything from them at all!

I rung about 2 weeks ago about this - was meant to have a manager ring me back - nothing!

Yesterday I was cut off! I emailed them and told them to ring me to sort this out as they had cut me off (if you do the 150 number you get cut off because your calls are barred - and its meant to be a free number!)

Still nothing from the email and I emailed them again today.

What can I do about this?

Has anyone had similar and any success?

Hope you can help, I been with them years and feel ripped off!

Thanks!!!

I may be wrong but I'm sure that, the last time I upgraded and changed tariff (Nov '09), I was told something along the lines of "your new tariff will become active from your next billing date".
I got the new phone the next day but my next billing date was 2 weeks off. I 'think' this is standard practice but, again, I received no paperwork that actually stated that...

When i upgraded through the Orange website it did state that all changes are from the next billing date. It keeps things simple as it avoids part month charges. I believe it's the same scenario if you change package mid contract as well.
