As used last year, definitely not.

Used sensibly, ie providing the necessary filler for the results show with something actually worth watching rather than wannabe, never-was and over-the-hill pop acts, it would be worth doing. Especially if Darren, Lilia and Ian aren't going to feature any other way.

Impractical and a waste of time and space.

No way Jose of a dance troupe for next year.

I would say none of the options.
The dance troupe in last years format just didn't work, but in a different format it might. The troupe on DWTS USA seems to be working quite well as they seem to get used more and aren't having to showcase silly themes but dancing proper ballroom and latin dancing.

None of the above options

If the Dance Troupe had been used as they said they were going to be used then they would have worked - as it happened, they were pushed to the back and forgotten, which wasnt their fault - they didnt appear on the website and we had no idea when they would be performing next.

In SCD7 on Blackpool Saturday there was a spectacularly successful viennese waltz formation by pro dancers -- were there 6 or 8 couples? There may be an optimum number to make the troupe idea work.

To treat someone of Matthew Cutler's class as nondescript fill-in was simply insulting.

Indeed! To me the whole thing was just a reminder (as if I needed it) of what I was missing out on. Ian and Matt C in a sideshow role? Pfffffft!

No, it was a complete waste of time quite franky. A stupid attempt by the powers that be to keep fans of the 'unwanted' (by the ptb) dancers happy. Glad Brian and Lilia saw it for what it was.

I think it had potential but It was under-utilised and could have been better "staffed".

I like the inclusion of pro routines but a variety of approaches would suit me better e.g.

Starting the show off

Demonstrating that week's dances (especially early doors when everyone is doing the same few ones)

Giving slots to eliminated/departed pros selectively - and maybe even reprising some of the pro-celeb dances too - "keeping the SCD family alive"

Showcasing new talent/potential future pros - I'd also like to see a "promising couples" amateur slot here - on DWTS they used to run mini-comps for kids and teens who were great IMO - my memory is fading, have they ever had kids on SCD?

I think they could also do worse than copy DWTS in another way and bring in some off-beat dance troupes to perform to guest singers sometimes

Plus mixing it up now and again and wheel out the things that Come Dancing was famed for - formation teams, veteran pros, a bit of (entertaining!) ethnic or folk dancing etc -in other words something for almost everyone!

I know people get fed up with the fillers sometimes but is that because they don't want the show dragging out or because of the dancers/dances used?

I'm sure I read at the start of the last series or just before ot started that the idea was to rotate the dancers. The ones that were in the troupe will get to partner the celebs in the next series and vice versa.

Really!!

I had only heard of two of the pro's in the dance troupe. The ones that have been brought in to dance with celebs have been relitavely well known in the past.

I couldn't really see that happening
