USB failed during update

I am currently trying to update my phone ( Samsung Galaxy S ) to Gingerbread through Kies and everything was going fine.

It downloaded the files it needed then a window popped up showing that the firmware upgrade is in progress and my phone also had the android downloading sign on.

But, then I have a pop up window on my desktop saying my usb is unrecognised and when I click the window it has this message ;

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Never had this before, but right now nothing is working, the upgrade is doing nothing but it says on my phone and on Kies not to disconnect. So what do I do?

All sorted now, had to do a emergency repair to the firmware.
