Fashion is classic Debbie Gibson.

The intro to Americano is so beautiful. Same with Marry The Night and Government Hooker. All very interesting and different for her.

I've also noticed she's taken to taking the melody of either the chorus or verses of some songs and switched them up or altered them in some way for use as an outro to the track. Like on Hooker with "I wanna beep Government Hooker" and on You and I's final chorus. It's quite fresh. I love thinking about how she structures her songs. Her trademark is a very conscious structure that appeals to me a lot, I think.

Looking at the lyrics, it looks like she's saying that misogynistic/sexist men = Scheiße, but she acknowledges how they put on the faux charm (again = Scheiße) and wishes it didn't have an effect on her.


She's not speaking actual German, it's total nonsense, and she says she can't but will "if you like"...so maybe she's the one talking Scheiße to someone?

Maybe it's about being a "hooker", submitting to a mans needs to benefit yourself?

Simple songwriting is where she is best.

I NEED to see her perform this live, her shows and performances are epic, but live at her piano is where she is best and clearly most at ease.

That's really nice to hear. You must have been so proud of him, HAH. I think it's a very old-soul, vintage stadium-rock type thundering anthem. I can see it appealing to a lot of people who associate more with older music. It's the kind of song that many people would have you believe she isn't capable of writing, to be honest.

So...general consensus seems to be that at the very least the album is "pretty great". Reviews included. Hopefully it will translate to sales.

I'm happy for her. She really did out-do herself, and I hope she's (and her label have) now got the confidence to stick her neck out again and do something different once more.

I'd worship at her feet if it was a live album. She could totally pull it off and would be a real FU.

Well she needs to an acoustic album. If I ever meet her, I will demand one.

If it was an album of live stripped down piano versions of her hits, she'd have a very decent tracklist. It's much cooler than a greatest hits compilation, which would obviously be too soon but would still sell.

Hi guys - Just a quick one! Have any of you pre-ordered on Amazon? I ordered last night, but it says I won't get the album til next Wednesday, and it will be dispatched Monday. Are stores not getting them before the release date, which means they won't be able to dispatch friday/over the weekend and get them to us for launch?

One other thing - will the deluxe edition be available in the shops? HMV etc?
