Who is going to be the person that wins when they really shouldn't this year?
The AMA's '10 had Justin Bieber as artist of the year (later revealed to be because Gaga didn't attend). |

With last year, she undoubtably deserved to sweep. Bad Romance was the most critically and commercially successful of the bunch and the video was huge. She was in the process of going stratospheric, and it would have been ridiculous if MTV didn't acknowledge that.
It's different this year. I'd say she still deserves recognition on a creative/technical/artistic level because her efforts are in a different league to Rihanna and Katy's, but they can't be as easily dismissed this year. They deserve recognition for their chart dominance and success. I don't particularly like Katy, but she deserves to be rewarded for her massive year. Just not with Video of the Year, her videos are too derivative for that. If Gaga could only walk with one, I'd like BTW to take it because I think - out of the nominees - it's the one that will be most remembered. It's flawed, but the intro...the egg stuff..the skeleton tuxedo couple...pretty memorable. |

If Katy sweeps then I at least want it to be spread out because E.T doesn't deserve to sweep.
EDIT: And I am a Katy fan, I'm not bashing.

I don't think we need to worry about Katy winning anything. She never does (I can only recall the EMA's and that wasn't voted for, plus she performed whilst Gaga etc. didn't attend).
It's kind of a shame that it's basically going to be a stan war between Gaga and Britney. Any sense of who should and shouldn't win is irrelevant. This is the first proper show down between their respective fanbases, so it should be interesting (aka such an epic mess that we may want to avoid forums for the next few months). |

Like it or not, Gaga is now what Britney was to the early 2000s. She'll definately get nominated at the VMAs - in terms of other female artists she's going to have to share the sweeping with Katy and E.T/LFN. I can certainly see her being nominated mostly for the smash that was Born This Way and possibly Judas. I just hope Edge Of Glory isn't chosen over Judas just because the song was bigger!

TMB 4th Highest Earning Tour of 2011 so far.

Fun times, but the real story is...I didn't know she was so high up the list of highest grossing tours!? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._concert_tours Seeing her name amongst legit legends already. Amazing. I wonder what she'll pull with the 'Lady Gaga Ball Born This Way Ball Monster Ball: Ball 3.0' tour.

If EOG is nominated she might as well reassign herself to only Katy Perry sweeping

The Gaga fanbase is quite scary to be honest, I've never known such weird people to rip someones hair extensions out, poke people with pins, pour salt into peoples gardens, and threaten to eat people alive when people speak badly of Gaga

Awards are not as important anymore.
I.M.O Gaga don't deserve the awards this year. It's all about Adele,Katy Perry & Rihanna. Nominations are great and fully deserving but not winning. Sorry but its true. |

Yeah,I can't really see Adele's video getting anything, but Katy,Britney and Rihanna are going to be GaGa's biggest competition for sure. Even though that's been said a million times.

Out of those three I think Katy is the only "big" competition. And she's in with MTV so that always helps!

Well what makes Gaga's videos award worthy? Because you say they do?
Because you are so dedicated to one of you favourite artists that dissing other artists makes your artist better. Don't make sense to me. I think Katy will definitely be nominated for "E.T". As for Gaga, I'm assuming it is for "Born This Way". |
