I really wish people would stop saying she constantly copies Madonna though - can we just accept that she is clearly INSPIRED by her but its not as if Madonna and Gaga have some sort of war going on between them where Gaga tries to rip Madonna off as much as she can - which is clearly what some stans seem to think is going on judging by some of the comments. I think Madonna and Gaga have nothing but overwhelming admiration and respect for each other.

Anyway....*frustratingly looks at her mailbox hoping to see a HMV package*....

Get Out My Playlist Highway Unicorn, Heavy Mental Lover, Electric Chapel, You And I
I wasn't overly impressed with Heavy Metal Lover at first, but I've grown to love it now. It's very Madonna-esque, but I think it also shows Gaga does Madonna better than Madonna.

And You and I is amazing, if you haven't heard it live you must and if you have, many times (like me), then you're probably a bit tired of it.

Sheisse and Government Hooker really should be singles. The only problem is censorship with radio. I'm not sure what she would get away with. And if they censor them, it would just lose the effect.

I can imagine Marry the Night as a single, it sounds like classic Gaga but a little more mature so I can imagine that being quite radio friendly.

And loads of people seem to love Americano, I really must be missing something. Its the only track I keep skipping.

There's only one 'bullshit' in Scheisse I believe. And no one would censor 'Scheiße', except maybe Germany and Austria.

And Government Hooker comes censored. You're allowed to say hooker.

I prefer You and I live to be honest. I love when she ends with the big note but on the album it kinda just ends all softly which feels a bit flat after the big build up...

Yeah, I can see her getting away with Scheisse. Radio Edits are to protect children. They won't understand the meaning of Scheisse, and if they do, they're old enough to understand!

And I really get Americano, but then I speak Spanish and I love that kinda sound.

I wasn't aware that people had recently said on this thread that Gaga had copied Madonna...

I thought you can say 'Hooker' but I just thought repeating it over and over would be a bit different. Its like on TV, you can say certain words but only a certain amount of times...

I think what people need to remember is that Gaga grew up listening to x, y and z...so she's naturally going to be a product of that. Madonna is obviously a major musical influence, along with Bruce Springsteen, as demonstrated in this album. That's why her music is so 80's/90's, it's what she knows and loves. It wouldn't be natural if she came out with dubstep or something urban.

I don't see what the problem is - people get compared to other people all the time and it doesn't mean they are taking anything away from that person's talent. As I've said previously, Madonna has released songs in so many different styles, artists are hard pushed to release something that doesn't sound like something she has done.

Gaga has released a flipping fantastic album and just because I mentioned how it sounds like something Madonna would have done in places, it doesn't mean that I've downgraded the album to just fantastic as a result...

GaGa doing dubstep? Ow I wanna hear it! The Skrillex remix of Bad Romance is the closest I've got to that and it was fantastic

This album is amazing. I'm glad, because as much as I think TFM and TF have some great tracks, I find them hard to listen to fully over and over. They're not as cohesive or solid, in my opinion.

This album is actually amazing. But I have a gut feeling that it's not going to be treated that way.

It's been getting excellent reviews overall. There have been a couple of pressed detractor reviews but they've been blatant and generally flop-tastic (my favourite was the one which failed to actually mention the songs—stellar).

Her promotional campaign is ridiculous. Potentially one of the biggest ever. Her team aren't playing. If the album isn't spectacularly successful, it won't be down to lack of promotion or musical quality, in my opinion. If they get the singles right, they're sorted.

And this is apparently going to last longer than The Fame Monster era, with a rumoured 9 singles. The BTWB is going to be epic!

Also, different people have different favourites whereas from the other albums everyone liked the same songs and some people just didn't like any so I feel that this album has reached out and appealed to a wider audience.

Mine was dispatched this morning too, by the usually-reliable Woolworths, so hopefully I'll get it by the weekend
