It helped hide her smile to a small extent but her smile was so wide I still noticed it! I knew they where gonna get ripped off when they didn't ask how much over the phone.

This overpriced tea company has been named on TV. I cant see them staying in business very long. All their other customers must be wondering why they're paying so much.

they should of just not bothered. The fine would have been cheaper. This why this task isn't about getting 10 products.

Seemed a bit odd TBH. That woman should have not been so used to trying to fleece in the wholesale buying/selling trade, she wasn't talking about an exactly quotidian commodity. I'm not saying it had the sniff of a setup, but...

Did they not watch last years show? One team got all the items but still lost because they paid too much for them. Loralun said it wasn't a treasure hunt, where you rush out and get the items at any cost, it's more about being able to sorce and find the bargin. The tea incident reminded me of the truffle fiasco last year.

Don't quote me, but given the relatively short gap between series, I imagine that this episode had already been filmed by the time last year's episode was screened.

Is it just me or as the years have gone by do candidates now defer too much to the PM?

I dont think we have ever got the low down on the full prices paid or even expect in a buying task yet. We know nothing about the ice or Physilis. In fact I'm not even sure what the Physillis were - was it those chinese lantern type fruits?

How much tea were they told to buy? I wouldn't have a clue what the best price is to pay for quality tea that would be fit for the Savoy.

That's the problem with this task. Quality wasn't even an issue, and as if the Savoy would just accept anything they bought. It's all a bit silly really.

Lord Sugar was hopelessly confused/confusing as to what was expected. He briefed them that getting everything was very important and he stressed that high quality was required and then added that costs were key too. That gives them confused cues - apart from watching past series - as to whats most important. He then had tiny fines for not finding an item, and no obvious check on what was high enough quality. But he then swaps again, and declares in favour of finding the goods mattering, by saying that Gavin's team should have lost for getting 3 fewer projects.

Last series we at least saw that they had managed to get an idea of some prices (though they ignored the price of truffles anyway) This series they seemed to have no idea at all, and they all went to silly suppliers. What follows becomes very random.

That shows in the results. If the girls had failed to get the tea at all, they would have won by a big margin - and if they had managed to reduce the price by £10 less, they would have lost. His Lordship would have then ended up saying the opposite - that they deserved to lose, because they failed to source the goods cheaply enough.

Since we have no idea of the expected tea price we cannot know what would the fine be if they didnt get it. I still think just £50 extra is not enough.

The physalis was another thing altogether. I simply cannot believe that not one candidate had any clue what they are, or were beyond the means of very rapidly finding out during the initial stages; in fact, that felt so specious that in the end I was astounded only by the lack of inclusion of signposted STD puns within the backseat-bound 'candid' conversations. I went through a phase not so long ago of buying them regularly from Tesco (physalis that is, not backseat-bound puns), until I went off them as they are way too sweet/granular.
