But I suspect they can spell "should" "Google" and "idiots", and probably know the difference between "off" and "have", so may not be such idiots after all.
They may know the difference between a genuine post and a joke/sarcastic one as well...

If they didn't know what it is, how would they know it was french?
If they didn't know it was French, why would they pronounce it "closh-ay"? Surely any English speaker who didn't know the word would pronounce it "closh" unless they were trying to be as pretentious as Del-boy Trotter?

Or even "clotch".

But they would surely be familiar with the word cliché and might think cloche was pronounced in a similar way.

I didn't know that was what they were called, but I knew cloche was French for bell. It's not exactly an obscure word. Something bell-shaped a hotel might want which was 10" diameter and made of stainless steel narrowed the field down a bit.

What made me laugh is when Melody corrected the pronunciation of the word Cloche by the other candidates when she didnt have a clue to how it is pronounced or what it was.

Closhey!!!!!

Stupid woman.
She tried so hard pretending to know didn't she?

Made me laugh too.

Have you actually googled cloche?

If you do, it comes up as being a bell.

It takes common sense to work it out.
not a lot of common sense needed though

comes up with the wiki page which states
