HTC Sensation
Well my HTC Sensation upgrade has just arrived from Vodafone. Its a mighty looking beast. It feels very solid in the had but not to heavy. In terms of build I would say the SGS2 is the lightest then the Atrix then the Sensation. Its very quick, it downloaded all my apps and installed them with in a few moments. Will try and run some tests later to compare all 3 handsets.

The Sensation has the advantage of actually having a full size screen rather than one of those 'mini' screens that you get on an iPhone - so it won't be like peering through a keyhole.
The Sensation has 4.3 inch @ 540 x 960 pixels... bigger screen, less pixels. ....and retina versus slcd! ....Fightttt!!!! ((in the voice of Harry Hill)) |

I had a go of the Sensation at the HTC roadshow.
The screen is really nice. Very colourful. |

Their "retina" display is about pixel density, pixels per inch, the 640x960 on the 3.5" screen. SLCD is a screen tech not a screen spec. Either compare S-LCD to IPS-LCD OR iPhone ppi versus sensation ppi. I do appreciate higher res on iphone but after being used to my HD7, I found the whole experience a bit squinty. Give me the 4.0" screen and a 1280x800 resolution, perfect screen size and resolution. |

I've got the Sensation, very impressed really fast, put my iPhone 3GS to shame, I'm new to Android & know there arn't as many apps as Apple, but I've got Angry Birds & Shazam, seem to work better than on the 3GS.
Camera & Video awsome. Steve |

I'm due a new phone in about a month, and after elimination, decided on an android. Over the last 2 weeks, I've been looking at the HTC Sensation & Galaxy S2. So far unless something on the HTC blows me away when I see/use one for real, I'll be going for the Galaxy, my maihn two reasons are 33% more RAM & 16Gb built in. I find it shocking the HTC only comes with 1Gb, my N900 has 32Gb built-in! I know you can use a microSD card, but from what an experience HTC Android friend has told me, some core google apps, simply work better on the built in flash. I don't want the hassle of having to worry about not having enough storage space for apps on my phone. It may sound like I'm hating the HTC, but i'm not it's still a contender but these 2 facts, reduce it's chances.

Yes I appreciate the high resolution but the usefulness of this size is somewhat limited. I won't quite use the word 'crap' but it is quite amazing that this severe limitation is seldom discussed. Interestingly the new LG Nova screen is meant to have the best screen for outdoor use, even better than on the S2. It's 40% extra brightness may reach the 'high heavens' when used on the iPhone 5. I'd suggest Apple might just call it the 'shine'. |

The comment about the iPhone screen size was a bit cheeky, and yes it is not like looking through a keyhole but really a 3.5 inch screen is inadequate these days. I remember seeing an iPhone for the first time in 2007 and was amazed by the size of the screen and now I am amazed they have not moved on. Lets see what the iPhone 5 brings.
