Oh, I really hope so. She's got to be the second most irritating woman on television, after Mary from Corrie. There is no reason for her to exist if Lee is going, is there?

Morning everyone! Er - afternoon or whatever.

So looking at it today I realized I may have gone overboard with the Brendan love on my recap of yesterday's episode. Yes, he was jealous, manipulative and just a downright bastard, but I loved it. And why? It may have been because I was recapping at 1am. But after having read that interview I finally accept that Brendan's just a psycho. He doesn't know how to operate in the world like a normal human being. He's manipulative, abusive and controlling.

So why did I like yesterday's episode so much? Because Brendan's gonna come between Ste and Noah and I can't wait for that to happen. That last scene was BRILLIANT. Just amazing. I also loved the bit where Ste stood up to Brendan and messed him around a bit. Because Brendan really deserved it for being such an ass.

Or it could just be BBSS.

Oh I've just remembered, Ste's all upset and sad tonight isn't he. For some reason I forgot about that, and even forgot Ste would be in the episode. I'm really not in the mood to see Ste all upset after how well he stuck up for himself yesterday. Blah.

The colons were missing after the http in the links you first posted, maybe DS is being a bit funny with the hyperlinking.

I loved the recap Lyssie, as usual. And I agree that Brendan is basically a psycho, but a very charismatic one. I've felt that from the start and it makes him no less interesting for me.

Oh it's okay, he'll get over it. They'll be dancing come next week.

I always enjoy reading your recaps, but I won't see the episode in question until this evening, so I'm saving myself until after that. Looking foward with bated breath to both the episode and the recap. God, I've missed Brendan.

I can't even remember what Brendan's up to, is it tonight he becomes Noel's client? I'm rather excited to see Brendan working out.

Great recap, Lyssie. Yeah, Brendan is just Brendan, isn't he? Psycho indeed but utterly loveable.

I don't know if we've spoken before, coz you are usually here whenever i'm not, but as usual, I loved it Everyone on this thread is amazingly creative.

If anything, it makes him more interesting to me, because we get the moments of vunerabitity and charisma, but also the guy who beats Ste up and killed Danny. I don't condone the violence, but I am really interested in what makes it happen.

Thanks everybody! I used to try to at least feign objectivity, but now I don't even bother. I love Brendan. Doesn't matter how nasty or asshole-ish he's being. But I did love Ste sticking up to him. Brendan doesn't deserve Ste, that much is true, but I do love watching him eff him around.

Thanks! I know I've seen you around, but I may have been lurking.

Brendan is so complex. He has truly descpicable moment, but then there are those "I just wanted to protect you, Stephen" moments that melt my heart. Just a great character and a brilliant actor.

Yes, he's not necessarily someone you would want to take home to meet your mother (although, knowing my mother, she would undoubtedly be captivated), but in a work of fiction he's a truly great character. I don't need to approve of everything he does in order to love him as a character.

Yeah exactly. Its those moments that we see the vunerabilty and (what I like to think is) love for Ste that mean I could never stop shipping them or loving Brendan. I know he constanly does messed up things and in rl I would hate him, but in HO his complexities and the story behind the abuse are gripping. There is so much more than a man just being a general menace and terrorising people, and I am dying to know more. Esp about Brendans own childhood.

In other news, my homophobic-ex (I hate that he is like that) came up behind me today, and whispered right down my ear in a creepy manner 'I want ye'. It was not at all sexy like brendans ear whispering, and I just creased up laughing at the image of Gaz I had in my head. I could hardly compose myself enough to tell him why it was funny, and that there was no way I wanted him back after that. HO really does rule my life, even in situations like that it is the first thing that comes to mind

This!

I'm gonna be totally honest, I hated Brendan when he first arrived. But then, he got involved with Ste. So, for me, Ste is the reason I started to love Brendan as much as I do now. And then with what we'd seen over the months of Brendan's feelings for Ste growing, the violence took a step back for a bit (but never went away.) and that really interested me, because after seeing how mean and manipulative Brendan can be, we also saw his human side.

Now, I know he's only been back for one episode and a lot of stuff is probably depending on what happens after the seduction .. business, so I can't say that I need vulnerability with him because we've already seen a lot of that, but I'm just gunna say that if he's out to wreck Ste's relationship, and then trying to control Ste's life or whatever, I'd rather he kept away from Ste. Permanently. They both left each other alone, Brendan got through his issues, Ste carried on with his life and maybe become friends in the end of it all. Like Ste and Amy did.

I sound quite whiny today but I feel quite protective over Ste, even though he isn't completely faultless considering he's gone back to Brendan so many times, so I'm gonna go for a bit, but that's all I wanted to say really!

It's showing on the Friday, isn't it? I really wanted to since I was down in Glasgow anyway on the Thursday, but I can't get the time of work and I have my new flatmate moving in that weekend so just bad timing. Bit gutted though, I'm desperate to see CC.

ETA: I can't wait to hear what you think though!

Oh you lucky swine you, I would love to go but it isn't really financially viable at the moment, you can be our official envoy and write us a review.

Aww, thats a real shame. I got a ticket for saturday the 25th, the friday is my sister's birthday so I can't do that one. I can't believe how lucky I am that i'm getting to see it tbh, normally everything happens miles away but edinburgh is easy for me to get to. I will do a little review on here afterwards if no one else does for anyone who wants.
