I wouldn't call it negativity, but it's sadly the truth. Sociopaths are generally unaware or just show little remorse for their actions. I feel more sorry for him than anything, I think in our eagerness to have Brendan seek redemption it's easy to forget that in reality he is suffering from a mental illness. I do wonder if that will be addressed on the show at some point, although I doubt it.

Still, I'm ignoring reality because sociopathic Brendan is also badass Brendan and I love me a bit of badass BB

The whole need for vulnerability thing, I get totally get that. But very rarely do we see a completely unvulnerable, cold Brendan, with the exception of episodes like passion turns to punches where he is just out of it and very detached from the situation. Take last night, for instance, when Ste was challenging him outside. For me that was Brendan being shaken out of his comfort zone, at least for a moment, and showing his vulnerability.”

Yeah I agree. Passion to punches and the infamous Cat Friday were the only things that took me out of my comfort zone as Emmett described in his interview with Danny.

Oh and I've just read that What's on TV interview - interesting that Kieron says Ste doesn't want Brendan but doesn't want anyone else to have him and Emmett said the same about Brendan. Stupid boys

Haaa! Oh bless him. "I get a 'tache rash you see."

I also love how it says that Ste's going to be heart broken, slight over exaggeration I think.

He is so adorable, and you can tell how much he looks up to Emmett.

I also love that there is a sock reference in there.

Thank you for such a lovely cap! I was just about to say we need to see Brendan in a white shirt more often, but I think that's what he'll be wearing whilst dancing. Can't wait.

People need to stop with the shave the 'tache stuff. Seriously.

Kieron's always so complimentary about Emmett (apart from the 'tache ), I loved what he said in that other interview today about hoping Brendan always has a hold on Ste so that he still gets to work with Emmett!

I've a feeling that Ste will be more pissed off with Brendan than Noah but will overlook the fact his boyfriend is a massive c*ckhead because he needs some affection. Ste! You are a strong confident (wo)man - stealing a line from Friends there .

BIB:

But yeah, I imagine Angry!Ste is going to be making an appearance when he sees Mr Muscles with Brendan. (Yay for Angry!Ste )

You know, if Ste just stayed single and stayed feisty, he wouldn't be having this problem.

This is sortof OT but I would love a simple, non-ansty scene of Ste and the kids playing together, like what we got with Darren and Charlie (who had miraculously grown from a toddler to about a seven year old in about two years ). It would just be lovely to watch imo

The slight problem with Ste staying single is that without this storyline he would have nothing, they have given Brendan all the stuff with his family, his gangstering and his feud with Warren, oh and being a murder suspect but they have given Ste nothing.

I don't think for a second that this is going to end any time soon but if it did it means pretty much no screentime for Kieron until they think of something else for him to do.

Be careful what you wish for Kieron fans.

Ooh new thread

Wow loads of great post's and I couldn't agree more with Tez and Purp! But one thing that Elle said that stood out to me was about BB and the control and how(even if he wants to) can not change his hunger for wanting power/control overnight and basically he isn't just doing it for the fun of it and that's something that I never really thought about which is deffo true! He can't.. really you can't just change who you are as a person, it takes time and work and i've only just realised that

Do we know if Brendan's actually in tonight's?

Need to catch up but from the brief bit of the thread I read this morning:
I liked last night's mostly because - yay he was back, and also I've got to the point where I have to lower my expectations in terms of what the show are planning for him as everytime I think "yay progress!" Brendan goes and thumps Ste in Cat Friday-esque episodes.

I happy for Brendan to be a bastard and true to his dick-ish ways but not for good, we know he's 3D if he's being a dick with an edge of dark humour constantly and we don't see the softer side then I fear the show will border on panto/2D villain. Don't want. I don't want Brendan to be Aaron from Emmerdale either but I don't think anyone wants snotty crying 24/7 and sexless interactions - not even possible for Brendan .

I'm greedy, I want him to be a bastard some of the time and see the vulnerable stuff too, don't think they need to be mutually exclusive as the show has proved in the past. And now - catch up time.”

BIB: Yes, exactly. My main worry. Thankfully I don't for a second believe Emmett would be happy playing that. He loves the darkness but not without the complexity. I think/hope.

And again, this. As long as we know why he is acting as he is, I'm happy. If it gets to the point where he's making people's lives an utter misery and kicking Lee in the groin for the lols, I'll be annoyed.

Yup I think he is, I also think it's tonight that Mr Muscles 'declares war' on Brendan, as the spoilers put it.

Anyone noticed how the E4 Hollyoaks website is basically just an Emmett Scanlan website now I love it!

Oh I was wrong about Neil Jones (last night's writer) being new, he's not! And he wrote some episodes of Later in 2009 and the late night episode where Luke was raped. Just looked him up.

"Chandler: You opened all the presents without me? I thought we were supposed to do that together!
Monica: You kissed another woman?
Chandler: Call it even?
Monica: Okay!

Noah-You slept with another man
Ste-You tried it on with me ex
Noah-Call it even
Ste-OK.

2009 was the one with Hannah and Rhys and the drug dealers at the festival. 2008 was Niall/Craig.

That was 08. Sarah's death (and many crap storylines ) was 2009. Laters are usually pretty bad actually except the 2008 with Niall and Craig and Steph and the Fisher (and Chez!) stuff!

Hi everyone

Have had exams the past few days so haven't been on here much. But they're over now, so yay!

I've been catching up and wow, a lot of things have happened!Sorry, if I go over old news, there's so much I need to say.

JayDuff's actually playing Brendan's son I'm so happy, that he's actually in the show and now maybe we can see a new side to Brendan rather than the dark, manipulative side we are seeing right now. I do really like that side but as others have said, I would love to see the softer side of Brendan that we've only had glimpses of in the past. Fatherly Brendan would be really great to see! Brendan helping Declan with his homework and giving him advice about his problems! It probably won't happen, though.

Also, we had a Brendan/Ste dream sequence!!! I got so excited when I saw that. I've wanted that for so long and it actually happened, even though it was really short and it ended with an image of Mr. Muscles And it might hopefully make up for the Noel/Brendan dream sequence we're going to get next week. I am so not looking forward to that.

Ah thanks C&S and Mojo. No wonder I didn't remember it, I hated Sarah and Lydia and as much as I liked Hannah, it was awful. I remember thinking Sarahs death was done really well though, and that I liked the music they used. Its sad that those things were my highlight of it really isn't it. Lets hope DCEC does better.
