Iron Man (technology) versus Superman (nature)
MiltonBlake

Hello

Because Superman is a product of a contained system- that's beholden to restrictive laws- and already at an evolutionary peak-

Iron Man would eventually be able to destroy him.

Technology enslaving Nature.

Superman hits an evolutionary plateau- but the potentiality of Iron Man is theoretically limitless

nice statement.
Or are you looking for discussion?

Personally, I agree - although samples of DNA and a lot of testing would have to be undertaken to achieve this.

I think it'd be quite easy for Iron Man to take out Superman, but he'd have to go down the line of Luthor in having a Kryptonite-powered suit.

Depends on the incarnation of Superman and the resistence to Kryptonite that the Superman would have.

Superman, in the presence of a Yellow Star, has a no limits fallacy, as his power slowly grows over time. That again depends of the incarnation of Superman, as Pre-Crisis Superman immediately powers up to God-Like levels in the presence of a Yellow Star.

To effectively counter Superman fully, Tony Stark would need Reed Richards levels of intelligence.

Iron Man is outdated, he would get his ass kicked by Ceramic Man or Polymer Man never mind Superman.

Hello

The over riding distinction of separation is evolution.

In those terms- Superman has flat lined.

It becomes only more powerful in the areas where he is gifted.

He wont grow into new powers, or have a different set of resistances.

Unlike Iron Man- who will evolve continuously as technology does.

As his understanding for the materials available to him, does.

Eventually, he will surpass every ability that Superman has.

Superman could be kiled with kryptonite-fuelled nano-bots.

That attack Superman on a molecular level.

it would be easy for Iron Man to fashion a repellent, based on the signature power of the nano-bots.

An example of the evolutionary advantage of Iron Man and his innate flexibility in a solution-orientated environment

Superman will become a 'better than average man', within a decade or two.

Yep, worked really well for Luthor, Metallo, etc.

Sheesh, these vs threads...

Ironman's weakness for your argument is that humanity isn't immortal and the speed that Tony is developing his armours means he will be dead long before he can build an armour that can top Superman.

If you believe that, then you obviously haven't read All-Star Superman...

Iron Man's armour isn't actually made of iron.

You mean the out-of-continuity mini series that has as little bearing on the Superman mythos as Superman IV did? I see your and raise you

Superman and Iron Man wouldn't fight, they'd team up together to fight Lex Luthor and
the Mandarin!

I'm still upset that Margot Kidder was completely F*cked up and ended up eating out of bins after being Banged by Superman in SuperMan 2
