I often get the Princes or Ye Olde Oak ones in the tin and they taste really nice on a finger roll with mustard.

I dont want to think about whats in them though haha

I had hotdogs for tea last night although I'm strictly a Herta man. We tried some cheaper ones once and they tasted weird, turns out they were 40% chicken.

Herta all the way. Jumbo when feeling hungry and usually just have the regular in the fridge for snacking on.

Hot Dogs are one of the few food items where I think the cheap and nasty ones taste nicest, even if they are chicken.

I don't really like Frankfurter sausages, although I don't mind them too much in a hotdog.

But I like a nice proper sausage in a hotdog with fried onions and ketchup. Mmmm. Churchill Square in Brighton has an amazing hotdog/burger stall outside the shopping centre, their hotdog's are lovely and they're only Ŗ2.50, which isn't too bad considering!

My youngest daughter's crazy about hotdogs at the moment. I'm not that keen on frankfurters&being unable to face another dinner of hotdogs i made myself a salad with chopped franks, sliced new potatoes and a wholegrain mustard dressing. It was scrumptious. Frankfurters taste so different not in a finger roll!

I love hotdogs of all kinds.

However I do have to admit to the 'dirty' ones (Ye Olde Oake, Princes) being a guilty pleasure.
Those mechanically recovered 'meat' and sawdust 'sausages' are great on a soft finger roll, with softened onions and some ketchup/yellow mustard.
I think they remind me of village fairs and whatnot.

I find the tinned ones tend to explode in the microwave.

There's Winkinger (I think) brand ones you get in a jar from the pound shops (10 for a quid!) they don't explode & are as good as Herta ones.

Yeah definitely. Don't know why. I also think fairly cheap sausage and bacon is the best to have on a fry up.

I like them now and again, as long as I don't think about what's in them.

I'm not keen on proper German style frankfurters though, I don't like the chewy skin.

Just looked, it's Wikinger, not Winkinger.

Haven't had one since I was a kid (making my father drag me to a local council-organised fireworks display/local travelling fair were the usual occasions). You couldn't pay me to eat one these days, although I'll always love that smell of the onions cooking on the hotplate thingy.

Can't go to the cinema without having a hot dog, that's the only time I ever eat them though.

Don't you find it doesn't even last through the adverts? I notice a few people who have gotten them, sat down and even before the trailers have finished it and looking around morosely

I gorge myself silly on hot-dogs when in NYC. There's this German place just off 5th Avenue and the food is immense.
