Great video

And apparently the marriage with R Kelly was not just a rumour, was it? I saw the "bride's name : Aaliyah D..." and "groom's name: Robert..." for a second in the video.

Yeah, Vibe Magazine posted a marriage certificate from the two of them, at the time Aaliyah who was 15 claimed to be 18. The two constantly denied it but sadly I think it was true. The songs on Aaliyah's debut album just seemed to give it away.

Yeah, I noticed the "age : 18" detail. Well, maybe this "relationship" is part of the reason why her family doesn't approve the biopic...But it does seem kind of weird, because she always came across as very innocent and sweet, which is why I initially thought that it was highly unlikely she got married when she was 15, but I was wrong apparently

She was sweet, most definitely, but I guess she fell in the 'trap' as R. Kelly's protege.

After that amazing 2pac hologram I'm hoping we have the same for Aaliyah!

That's what I thought too

I don't think it's going to happen, but it would establish her as an icon if it did happen. Unlikely, though

I watched the updated verison of her "Behind The Music"
Such a tragedy. I have been meaning to check her material for absolute ages. Got her discography downloaded. I will delve into the world of Aaliyah tomorrow.

Enjoy Her 3rd album in particular has plenty of hidden gems.

Drake has announced that he has an Aaliyah feature up his sleeve to be announced at a festival.

And the hologram rumors on Twitter have already began!

Drake has released his new song with Aaliyah - "Enough Said"

'Enough Said' is a great song. It took some time to grow on me, but I like it a lot. However, I would prefer to have the original version of the song. I bet it would sound much better in the form that she recorded it with the producers that she had chosen to work with back then. Her music still sounds fresh and up to date, so this song would be no exception. They could have released it without remixing and remastering it. Just my opinion.

Still, I'm excited about her posthumous album as long as Timbaland, Missy, J Dub and Rupture are involved. I don't like the idea of Drake and his producer doing the entire album. They didn't know her and I don't really like their work either tbh

Timbaland and Missy Elliott just announced that they won't be involved in the new album. That's if there's a new album, because Blackground have also scheduled new Timbaland and JoJo albums, but both of them are constantly being pushed back for the past 2 years.

I saw that, which is sad I like Drake for doing this for Aaliyah but he really should have asked Tim and Missy to do the album, because they definitely would have said yes.

I like 'Enough Said', but Drake and 40 need to back off. They are doing this album without the family's green light and without any of the people that actually knew Aaliyah and had worked with her while she was alive. What kind of an Aaliyah album can they do when they never even met Aaliyah? I appreciate Drake's motives, given that he is a huge Aaliyah fan too, but in my honest opinion, he's taking his "admiration" for her a little too far...

Anyway, I hope things work out in the end, because aside from all the drama and the label issues, I'd still love to hear some previously unreleased Aaliyah material, even if it's just leftovers from her recording sessions. I hope Timbaland, Missy and J Dub get enlisted by the label soon.
