Yes I agree - it is more a matter of preserving reputation and self-respect. I would not allow lies and character slurs to go unchallenged if I were similarly publically demonised and I had the means to reply.

Where he may 'cross the line' is if he does a vicious hatchet job. Everyone's opinion of exactly what constitutes this will differ. I think Josie has already done this - liar, manipulator, cheat, 'what he has done is so, so horrible', hanky tweets etc. Others are more forgiving. But I do not think he would ever sink to her gutter level. The NOW article shows that he is in a different class.

Yes I think I would too. I'm in two minds about it though. Keeping quiet is dignified and not rising to the bait etc., but then again why shouldn't he tell his side and have his say!! I thought he came across very well in the last one. The trouble is the way the mags sensationalize the headlines etc.

Been having a scout around to see if I could find any indication of what will be shown on tomorrow's TSAJ. Only thing I came up with on Google news is that Josie looked at a new housing development in Bristol, and the company are saying her visit will be featured on Monday's episode. It says the series ends with John taking a trip to Australia and Josie deciding whether to stay in London or return to Bristol. If the producers don't want the viewing figures to nose dive this is going to have to feature right at the end, because when he flies out, I as a John fan wont be watching her swanning about the place. I take it no one has seen the elusive trailer for this episode yet?

No, not seen a trailer either. Though don't watch channel 5 that much. I read a TV supliment yesterday, the one that came with the sun newspaper i think it was. It said wtte. Programme that follows BB11 winnner blah-de-blah. While her boyfriend threatens to go back to Australia, Josie goes to Bristol for advice from her mum.

Can't wait for this show to be over tbh.

I have been catching up and mulling things over a bit.

I am very sorry that John has been getting death threats. I hope he, like the manager of the Scottish team Celtic, has reported it to the police. It is cyber bullying and made by yes I am going to say it, sad, stupid people who should know better. From what I have heard in the news and read in the papers it may be that there is more protection or more rules regarding twitter. I really hope so.

Still haven't seen any trailers for TSAJ but expect they will string out John's appearance until the last segment. I really hope all the Josie followers stop with the Twitter nastiness.

Having come from a publishing,journalistic background, I was amazed to see the tweetlonger from both the NOW journalist and the OKTV staffer. Looks like some people are getting wise to Josie at last. I wonder how she would like it if she got death threats - no I don't believe she ever has - it came from our friend Mr Marky and I believe what he says as much as I believe there is life on Venus.

I have to agree with Alex about John. I think it is 50/50 as to whether John returns to these shores and also 50/50 as to whether he pursues something in the public eye. It is a sorry shame if he feels he can't come over, but hopefully if he does come over with a friend he will have more support. We do not have news of an agent for John so I expect it may be some time before he comes over again. I am sad to say, I think if he does come over again, it won't be in the public eye. I sincerely hope I am proved wrong.

As much as I would like to have an article with his side of the story I do not want yet another Katie and Peter media war.

My biggest hope is that the new owner of Star, OK and the other Desmond publications, gets rid of Josie Gibson and allows her to fade from public view and do the travelling and the balloon rides she had on the list of things she wanted to do.

Sorry to ramble, but I am still seething that John and his mother had to cut their trip short and that there is no recourse to take legal action about tweets at the moment.

Good to hear the Now journalist back John up and confirm that BBE was talking a load of nonsense even though it made sad reading. It was awful to hear how John was hounded back to Oz with him Mum and the death threats. Makes you wonder about the sanity of some people doesn't it!!
