Their judging has been disgraceful, they seem to be saying no to the good acts, and yes to the bad acts.

Examples are this guy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07xw4v9UjzU

He was shit. Yes he may have been funny ( I didnt find him funny at all, it was just embarassing) but he should NOT have gone through.

The highway man should have gone through even if they werent marines.

And a dance act in the last show (cant remember their name) got 2 no's I think. Their audition may not have been brilliant, but give them a chance and they could be alot stronger with a better routine and choreography.

And there are plenty of other bad acts that have made it through but cant really think of them now.

Can't see the link you posted, but surely... David is the one who would need to go? I like him... but a lot of British stuff just seems to fly over him, covering it up with the almighty:

"YOU... NAILED IT!"

Has this been different to any other years? No. They've always let stupid or joke acts through instead of some decent ones. Maybe you should direct your hate towards the top guy of BGT, rather than the new judges?

You're right there, of course they're always gonna let a couple of bad funny acts go through, I have been quite happy with previous years. But this year has got alot worse.

Michael and Amanda are the two good judges, sorry but I agreed with Amanda and Michael on The Highway Men, they were okay but it's not a very entertaining act, people like David and Karen are the real entertainers

Fair enough. But what about the bigger number of shit acts going through, there are more this year than last year.

Just to let you know - that guy is history, the highwaymen thing was a set up, I doubt you will see them make the top 40 anyway. There are many dance acts going to the top 40 - watching 10 dance acts in the final wold not be good though.

Thats good, but its the fact that they actually say yes to acts like that in the first place and no to acts like the highwayman. This has got more common this year, and more annoying. And I dont see how the highwayman thing could be set up.

It was dramatic. Drama = ratings. Ratings = money. Money = good.

Unless they somehow knew that the highwaymen were good and could entertain the crowd before their audition, they wouldnt have known to stage it and say no to make the audience react like that and create drama. And anyway, Drama = pissed off viewers. Pissed off viewers = less ratings. Less ratings = bad. So why would they do it in the first place?

They were marines (or something like that). The moment that came out, the audience was always, always gonna be on their side. This also means that it's pretty safe to assume that they're good drummers. If there was one act safe to punt on for the audience to back, it was them.

Of course the drama pisses the majority of us off, yet people continue to tune in regardless to see what all the kerfuffle is about that. And even if they didn't, the producers seem to be pretty damn stubborn with their views about the audience. It can be the only reason why we're fed constant crap during the audition shows on TV. They don't care how we're feeling, as long as we're watching. And ratings suggest to them that we're watching, which they're probably using to assume we're loving it, without paying attention to feedback.

Amanda disappeared up her own backside quite some time ago. Whilst I feel sorry for what she has had to go through in her personal life I have never been able to warm to her as a tv personality.

From where I'm sat, The Hoff is the only one with any sense and I never thought I'd hear myself say that in a month of Sundays!

I think Micheal has been a breath of fresh air. Certainly better than Pierce.
And I like Amanda, although I do have to admit she is not really suited to the role of senior judge.

QUOTE]

However, it was recently revealed in The Sun that just days before the band were due to travel to London, to find out whether or not they would be performing on the live ITV semi finals, they were forced to pull out as some of their members were called in to cover for military colleagues on duty at the Royal Wedding.

Leader Stuart Warmington, 34, said: “We’re all active soldiers. One of the bands was sent to Afghanistan and others are playing at the wedding so we were needed for operational duty.”
