Why hasn't Amy told anybody about eye-patch woman?

She keeps seeing this mysterious woman appear from behind the wall watching her... doesn't she want to know who she is??

After the first time and possibly even the second time I could believe she wouldn't say anything or maybe forget about it as it always seems to happen when she's in the middle of something dramatic that she would push it to the back of her mind.

But it's happened too often now. Surely she'd remember and say something to the Doctor or Rory. Or is it in some way connected to the Silence (I personally don't think so) and she keeps forgetting about it as soon as it happens?

That thought occurred to me too. I'm assuming it's something similar to the silents. She forgets her the moment she disappears from sight.

I think she remembers but is too freaked out by it and doesn't want to worry the Doctor or (especially) Rory.
Although, if anyone could help it would be the doctor so she's being a bit stupid there!

Can you imagine the ridicule ?

Especially if she posted it on here.

I think in COtBS she went to tell him but he was listening properly.

How many times has she seen it now? 3? It hasn't turned up every episode, and it only showed up in the trailer this week I think. Perhaps she'll mention it after the next appearance, or perhaps as another poster mentioned she's embarrassed/concerned she's going insane.

Maybe of she isn't thinking about it or concentrating on it, the hatch woman slips her mind.

In the very first episode of the season the silents said this to Amy...

"There is something that the doctor must know and there is something that he cannot know..." i think

I think we all assumed that his death was one of these. What if one of them was eyepatch woman?

She's seen it in every episode since she first saw it in DoTM (albeit very briefly). So 4 times including DoTM.

Where in The Doctor's Wife? I don't remember?

What annoys me about this is that they're tiny little moments, last week's and the upcoming episode have both been given away in the 'Next Time' trailer.

What's the point in that?

Possibly because in a future episode it is very important, and they don't want people to have missed it, so by showing it in the preview, you are looking out for it.

But if it's supposed to be like the Bad Wolf, Torchwood, Saxon, Missing Planets, Crack type thing - they're signposting it WAY too much.

These eye-patch moments are supposed to be out of place, they're supposed to be appearing to Amy in the most random of moments - so if we're looking out for them, to me it kinda ruins the point of them.

Me and the rest of my family came up with:
Amy had to see several psychiatrists as a child. What if the eye patch lady is something to do with young Amy being in a cell and people looking through a hatch on the door checking on her because they think she is mad?

That's a clever idea - something relating to her past rather than her future (with overtones of Amy still being loopy).

Nice one

Is she mad, in a coma or back in time?

Are you sure she appeared in the doctor's wife and the impossible astronaut? I can't recall them - may have just slipped my mind though.

I much prefer the story arcs before they came so blatant.

I didn't notice 'bad wolf' until they made a point of it in Boom Town.

I didn't notice Torchwood.

So the cracks and random people with eye patches are really annoying me, there's nothing to look for anymore.

She wasn't in The Doctor's Wife but we did get a visual metaphor for her when the Doc and Idris were building the second console and Idris looked at herself in the mirror.

As in this: http://tinypic.com/r/24no1nm/7 ? Not entirely convinced that counts as an appearance.

Was she in the impossible astronaut then? I thought she first turned up in the orphanage in day of the moon.

EDIT: apologies to suswho: just re-read your original post and realised you didn't claim she was in the impossible astronaut.

Are you actually expecting an explanation here?

It was in quotes, you are meant to assume it is Amy talking (in reference to an earlier reply in the thread), as though she was on this board, talking about something that the Doctor and Rory haven't seen, like a board member proposing an outrageous theory based on a scene or dialogue that they've seen/interpreted.

The poster doesn't actually a theory

Yes that's the right one. It's not an appearance but it is a metaphor for the eyepatch lady's appearances. Done to imply a link between the heart of the Tardis and eyepatch lady.

As I said, I'm not convinced.
