People keep mentioning to watch a couple of episodes from an earlier series to help explain River. I think one was called Silence in the Library.

Does anyone know where I can find these online?>

Thanks

Hello, i'm not sure off hand if Silence in the Library is available anywhere online for free, however you can buy past episodes to download from iTunes, and I think other online retailers will have similar download options although I haven't personally tried any others.

As for watching recent episodes they're available for a limited time on the BBC iPlayer website.

All the best

Anyone providing links to such websites would be doing themselves an injustice - such sites aren't strictly legal.

iTunes, and the BBC iPlayer website? There's a link to another site on the official BBC website as well where you can rent some old episodes - SeeSaw I think it's called?

Surely they are completely above board?

I'd just buy "series 4 volume 3" it is only £2.99 on amazon free delivery to UK

It contains both of the River episodes plus the Marmite episode "Midnight" You either love it or hate it... I love it ;D

I know a great place, the legality of it is a bit sketchy (basically you wont get into trouble just the site, its an aggregates) but since i buy the merchandise and download a great no. of episodes, i don't really think im damaging the revenue too much :P

dunno if im allowed to post it here though...

I wouldn't - no point risking your membership.

Basically, the only legit sources for downloads are the BBC or shops that have licenced rights. Everything is an illegal copy.

With the greatest of respect to the OP and to save any accusations of us discussing illegal activities in the forum (and yes, that is against the rules) - the only correct answer is - use Google - to find a legal source.

Seesaw and Blinkbox are legal in the UK.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blinkbox

Both are referred to on Gallifreybase which has a zero tolerance approach. quite rightly, to copyright theft.

The Beeb Youtube channel is worth picking up too.

Great website that lets you watch either on iplayer or Megavideo or other video sources. Megavideo has a time limit if you dont have an account, just reset your internet router and refresh to get rid of the view limit once the message appears.

Thanks everyone. May order on Amazon as cheaper than renting from seesaw.

Just to clarify, I wasn't necessarily looking for online free illegal sites but I couldn't find it on iPlayer, only the new series, and didn't realise you could get the older ones on seesaw. I don't tend to use iPlayer as I just sky+ things I am going to miss.

Wasn't talking about these ones. Blinkbox and SeeSaw you have to pay for, so it isn't free, same with iTunes. iPlayer usually only shows the episodes for a limited time.

Alot of the sites that have the episodes for free aren't as safe.

If you have BTVision, Sky+Anytime or similar, they may be available directly to your TV.

Ah, ok. I didn't know which sites you were referring to, so thank you for clarifying that.

I did think that as it was a BBC program, and I pay my license fee so have effectively helped pay for it already, that it would be free to watch.

As it happens, my daughters friend is a huge fan and has all the DVDs so may ask to borrow one from him.
