Which widescreen TV?

Hello.

Our old Hitachi w/s TV has given up after 7 years so time to look for a new one. Where to start? Budget will be under £500, would like 3 scarts but 2 would do at a push. Camcorder phonos & s-VHS type connector(?) also useful, and ideally with easy access - not round the back...
Already have Sky DSAT so no need for a digital or even analogue tuner - we don't have an aerial. Not worried either about surround sound / Dolby etc, as long as there are phono outs to the hi-fi for stereo.
Would prefer flat screen & the best picture possible for this sort of budget. All the bells, whistles and peripheral stuff is unnecessary and unwanted tho. Why pay for stuff we don't need?

So a good w/s picture, 28 - 32"" screen, with 3 scarts. And black, not silver if poss. Any suggestions gratefully received

I would fully recomend Sony. They are by Far the best quaility TV's i have used.

Quiet and quick turn on, and outstanding picture quailty.

For this Price you will only get a 28" which is fine.

The two models at currys are

Model - SONY KV28LS36U
Product Code - 940336 for £399

OR

Model - SONY KV28CS70U
Product Code - 733854 For £519.

Of course you may find them cheaper online, and these are "Currys online prices" But these are the tellys i think you should look at,.

You can save some £££££ by buying online, but u should go to currys or dixons etc so see the telly in real life, check it looks good to you, as it should be with you for a good few years

If you watch sport, don't go for a 100 Hz TV, as they players tend to ghost, a friend of mine had the misfortune of buying one. Stick with a standard 50 Hz.

You might also want to read the Joke(budget) brands thread in this section, although you might want to avoid my experiences of buying tv's, as it will put you off for life!!!!!!
