i would love Fern Cotton to host itt , doubt it would ever happen though !

Right,

THE CRITERIA (According to me)

1) A sense of humour, but importantly, one that is NOTHING like Claudia's. The worst thing would be someone coming in trying to be Claudia. It just wouldn't work.

2) Someone knowledgeable about dance but with no bias. (i.e Anton would obviously be backing Erin and vice versa)

3) No one who doesn't genuinely love the programme. Names like Kate Thornton and Ferne Cotton have been thrown around which horrifies me. Do we want another Tess Daly? NO! I want someone who is properly passionate about the programme. A fan of it and to be interested in the minor details of the show like the typical viewer of ITT is.

As much as I'd love THE HART to do it, she will be filming series 3 of her sitcom this Winter so will be far too busy. Add in the fact that she is not consistent enough to do 60 shows in 12 weeks. She cancelled 2 of her Miranda recordings last year because she wasn't feeling up to it. Can't have that on ITT.

My suggestions:
Chris Hollins
JLC
Zoe Ball
Gabby Logan (although can't see her branching away from sport.)
Katie Derham (she's a genuine fan of the programme, a lovely person and to me is very underused on radio 3)
Arlene Phillips (although I fear she'd have too much of an opinion about it all ... and I can't see the Beeb admitted they made a mistake by sacking her.)

Natasha K and Sian Williams have been suggested, both women I love very much but neither I feel would be right for the show. Natasha is too serious and if she did it she could pretty much kiss goodbye to finding a news job again. Sian doesn't leave Breakfast until March 2012 at least. No way is she doing 3hr 15 mins of live tv a day and then coming back for more ...

That's my halfpenny's worth.

Erm, she does way more than 2 hours work a day, actually. She works at least 6 days a week and does a hell of a lot of charity work on the side. That's like saying Bill and Sian from BBC Breakfast only do three hours work a day.. Rubbish.

I think maybe Zoe Ball. She was fine in the Strictly tour so I wouldn't mind her

Just had a horrible horrible thought LISA SNOWDON.

Former contestant, did years of live tv on MTV, former model that will come in handy on Friday shows

Yeah Arlene that well known tv presenter The woman's delivery is as as wooden as the Strictly judges table.

Quote:
“But she left because her third child with husband Kris Thykier will be just six weeks old when the show starts in the summer.”

The summer?

The show is broadcast in the autumn/winter. Someone at the Sun is seriously bad at journalism to get that so wrong!!!

Sun, get the basic facts right.

4/1 on for Kate Thornton lol.

Please NO to the fearne Cotton suggestion.
I'm coming round to the idea of Zoe Ball. I think she would be good actually.
I've seen the reports suggesting the news presenters Kate Garraway, Natasha Kaplinsky and Sian Williams but I personally don't think any of them would be good in the role. Natasha has distanced herself from SCD anyway and never was very happy about taking part (she wanted to stick to serious journalism) so I can't see her making a return after 7 years. Kate Garraway could at least successfully take over Claudia's mantle of being unable to dance in Len's masterclasses but I don't see her as being enough of a fan.

I love the idea of Zoe Ball, she's got more of a pedigree even than Clauds when it comes to that sort of TV. Mind you, she's also got a youngish child to be looking after so perhaps she wouldn't want the commitment

If Kate Thornton or (worse) Gabby bloody Logan get the job I am never watching ITT again. For anything.

Another vote for Zoe Ball, she has the experience two-fold (contestant/presenter) and could bring something different to the show.

Considering Kate has done such a credible job on tour I'd give it to her.

I hope she is just taking a year off and will come back next year I like claudia on ITT but I understand why she wants to go it would be hard to juggle a show for 5 days a week and look after a baby thats just been born I wish her the best

I'd love to know what you find so repellent about the kind, generous, friendly and completely inoffensive Gabby.

That's sad news for the show but good luck to her. Her replacement? Why don't they go for someone relatively unknown, wouldn't want to see an ex-contestant present it. Can't think of anybody off-hand but would need to be somebody fairly sharp and quick-witted.

Did someone mention Justion Lee Collins? He could be interesting.

Not wooden Kate Garraway please, she's more interested in the sound of her own voice.
I think there needs to be a group of presenters as no individual can match Claudia's quick wit, quirkyness and love of the show. There were several 'groups' of celebs on ITT last season who had great chemistry and banter, so find a core 2-3 to do regular presenting supplimented with guests. Ala Miranda, Michael Ball, Anton etc.

James Jordan? He did a few behind the scenes reports last series and was decent enough in front of camera.

Personally I'd like Camilla to get the job but if she doesn't I will content myself with knowing that when I come to DS in the evenings someone else will be getting the Alesha treatment and I can sit comfortably in my chair and have a giggle while other FM's tear into each other with the usual disproportionate level of zeal

I agree that Zoe Ball would be a good presenter of ITT, bright, funny ( but different to Claudia ) and having been there and done it should stand her in good stead.

I would think it would be better to have an experienced presenter rather than passing it on to one of the pros, past or present. However the spots they did with some of the pros were excellent, and they could do more of them.

One change they should definitely be making is to cut Len's role right down. 'Ask Len' was hideous, and Len's masterclass wasn't much better. The masterclasses should be with ex or eliminated pros.

Didn't he do the first series, before Claudia? I don't know why he left - if he was sacked or if he quit, but whichever, it would be weird for him to come back.

I bet Marian Keyes is camping out at the BBC in order to get the gig.

Would love JLC, Miranda or Marian Keys - would hate any standard sensible presenter. Fern Cotton would be my last choice!
