randomly at the end of the episode Amy just gets kidnapped we dont know why or who by and then the episode finishes. If that does happen the episode would have been spoiled because nothing that I didn't know happened.
Would you have openly told people on the forum that The Doctor regenerates in The Impossible Astronaut because the pictures were released by the BBC because that would have spoiled it for a lot of people. A lot were complaining last week that the cliffhanger for The Rebel Flesh was spoiled because the BBC released a picture of the ganger Doctor.”

But from the synopsis, written by the BBC, we know it isn't the cliffhanger that keeps us through the months without Who - so I don't see the problem there.

As a courtesy, I wouldn't have said anything about the regeneration in TIA (as stated a few posts up, I do it as a courtesy), except within spoiler quotes - I even warn people if the spoilers I write are biggies. But I wouldn't have got angry had someone else done it - because I would know that it's part of a larger story. If the BBC have released it (under the watchful eye of SM - whom we know hates spoilers), then if it's talked about here that shouldn't be a problem.

Imposing a rule that nothing can be talked about - be it an episode name, or a guest character, or a released teaser - without tagging would be silly. As a courtesy, most people already do, but stuff in the public domain is fair game. The majority shouldn't be forced to pander to the sensitive minority.

However, if we were to have two distinct tags (one named 'teaser' - which would cover all the information for upcoming episodes that are in the public domain; and the other still called 'spoiler' - which would cover all information for upcoming episodes that has not yet been officially released), then I would also get angry if people were to popst without them.

I get what your saying (luckily I knew the spoiler before reading it here) but I read several interviews with Moffat and Matthew Graham about this episodes finale with Moffat even saying it was a "belter" so I was looking very forward to it and then with Matt on the One Show calling it a "whopper" made me really excited for the episode and then to see the BBC had released it in a synopsis really really annoyed I bet it probably annoyed SM a bit as well, at least wait to release a synopsis till the episode before has aired especially if the cliffhanger is a very big event (Which some would say this is). Annoyingly I found out through a link posted on a thread which the first line spoiled it but I also saw the synopsis on ep 7.

But in both press releases,
Spoiler
it doesn't state the kidnapping is the denouement. For all anyone reading it knows, the kidnapping could be the pre-credit scene.

In fact, it is still only people filling it in - nowhere have I read a definite statement that this is what happens. It's only conjecture - extrememly likely to be the case, but still only speculation. It's the people decrying the teaser that have spoiled it...

most outrageous idea i could come up with the other day....

The doctor dies and the clone (an exact copy with all his memories and experiences) takes his place as if nothing happened.

Not a spoiler just an idea I made up.

Real Doctor's shoes melted in the acid and he had to borrow a pair.

The picture that's been out for a while that was just posted on Doctor Who's Facebook page, is that in the next ep?

I apologise, I was under the belief it was common knowledge given thats it's been talked about in numerous threads so much.

Still:

Spoiler
At least we know the Burger King kidnaps Amy and gives her his Whopper. Ronald McDonald isn't too pleased and crosses over to the dark side to take over the world with The Hamburglar. I also have a sneaky suspicion the galaxy feared gangster Pizza The Hut will also make an appearance from what it says on the BBC Doctor Who mini site

I hope I didn't spoil it for anyone.

Here is the real synopsis for ep 7:
Spoiler
Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) is kidnapped
Amy Pond has been kidnapped and the Doctor is raising an army to rescue her as the drama continues. But as he and Rory race across galaxies, calling in long-held debts and solemnly given promises, his enemies are laying a carefully concealed trap.

In her cell in Stormcage, River Song sadly acknowledges that the time has come at last – today will mark the Battle of Demons Run and the Doctor’s darkest hour. Both sides will make their sacrifices and River Song must finally reveal her most closely guarded secret to the Doctor.

Amy is played by Karen Gillan, the Doctor by Matt Smith, Rory by Arthur Darvill and River Song by Alex Kingston.

Nothing mega spoilerish but still enough for us to live on for now.

Romana in "The Stones of Blood" and the Seventh Doctor in "Dragonfire" spring to mind.
