Gennie moving in with Nikhil never made sense except for the fact that he and Jai might be joint owners

They need their own place - the whole Nikhil is insensitive thing has been done to death- let's not have anymore fake barricades- they won't be spiltting up any time soon unless the writers lose the plot entirely

Lets home after Gennie moves out of Holgate they decide to move into Gennie's old place together. The only reason for Nikhil to stay at Holgate would be that he owns half of it,but I'm sure Jai could give him his share of the house back.

Great to see the tight white top making an appearance again tonight.

Loved it when Gennie said that "Niikhil seeing Chas had slipped her mind" and then making up a time for Nikhil's run which was 15 seconds better than his previous best!

Making up his running time was funny- he looked so genuinely delighted

Probably better that Gennie forget about Chas and Nikhil - she knows Chas cheated on him with Carl- probably best forgotten about

Yeah that showdown scene between Chas and Gennie is one of my all time favourites.

It was fab

I feel like they've been relegated to 3rd/4th plot again because the writers just can't focus on anyone happy

This whole moving out thing- it sounds a bit ridiculous how it's going to play out- I never understood why Gennie moved in with Nikhil, with a baby on the way it makes sense to get their own place

Spoiler
Nikhil is upset to find out Gennie's moved out. Does she actually move out without telling him and only let him know after shes already moved out? Saying you want to
move out is not the same, that could mean in a few weeks, in a few months. Plus, I suspect he is very distracted over David and Priya next week.

Then she's surprised/ delighted that Nikhil agrees to move in with her- really- it's a surprise- they are engaged, he's ridiculously over protective of her and the baby hasn't even
arrived- of course he's going to want to live with her- he's hardly going to want to live apart from his fiancée and child

We'll have a couple of days of contrived misunderstandings, a happy resolution and they'll disappear offscreen again

Gennie & Nikhil have a serious communication problem. Can't believe she moves out without telling him. Moody Gennie is back next week then!!!

Yes- I adore Gennie but the girl has serious communication problems- while I would normally not approve of Charity being the one to tell Nikhil that Gennie was pregnant I was just relieved that somebody told him

We will have to see how it plays out but you get the impression that the writers think we should be rolling our eyes thinking what has the muppet Nikhil done now- he never listens and always puts his foot in it but from the sounds of things they both have a communication problem not just Nikhil

I bet Nikhil will be wondering next week what he's done this time!!! Think is mind is more on what is going on with David/Pyria to noticing that Gennie is unhappy living at Holgate. Hope this isn't the end to David/Nikhil's Bromance!

Judging by the spoilers I've seen I think Gennie does try to tell Nikhil that she's not happy living with his family but he's too wrapped up in what's going on with Priya and David to care so she moves out to prove a point. I also think we will see a completely different look to Victoria Cottage set when they move in (a bit like when Debbie's stairs moved overnight). Although I bet Nikhil will be glad not to be living at Holdgate when the whole Jai/Rachel/Charity situation explodes.

Moves out to prove what point- that she can't communicate with her own fiancé I'm not surprised Nikhil is seriously distracted by the horror that is David and Priya messing around- I'm firmly Team Alicia but Gennie probably has tried to talk to him about it to no avail.

At least they'll be onscreen again, even if it's a slight comedy of errors

Bib - as long as they get rid of that horrible psychedelic wallpaper, I'll forgive them.

Presumably they had to fumigate the place and completely redecorate after Ali Spencer "helped" Gennie clean the house

It's hard to tell at this point whether the communication problems are based on a failure to articulate the problem or a failure to hear and actually process that there is a problem.
Spoiler
To be honest when someone says that they can't stand living with your family, as one of the spoilers suggests, you might think that would trigger a further conversation, of the "well then lets look at our options" variety. Apparently Gennie then makes it clear that she needs her own space and won't live with his family after the baby is born. Charity putting the cherry on the cake by wiping up some spillage using some of Gennie's newly bought baby clothes. Although, I don't know if Nikhil finds out about this, he does know directly from her that she is deeply unhappy. That he is still telling his brother that he has no idea what her problem is, at that point, frankly makes him look like he has difficulty comprehending basic information. They should never have moved into Holdgate. It was a crazy idea, doomed to failure. He needed to grow up and move out and recognise that his priority should be the taking care of the new family he's building. Hopefully the baby will help to make him less of a petulant, spoilt brat. Judging by the clip of the fun run, he's got a way to go yet. Lets hope that's one of Daddy's traits the baby doesn't inherit, otherwise it will be a case of poor Gennie once again.

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense- in recent weeks Nikhil's been hyper sensitive about Gennie and the pregnancy- it seems unlikely he would ignore her or that he would be ok with Charity upsetting her- how distracted is he by the David Priya hook up

Nikhil's an insensitive idiot is overplayed at times-We will have
to see how this all plays out- Have more faith in Rik and Sian than the writers

This storyline does seem rather strange. As Nikhil has been on his best behaviour for 2 months now. Maybe the writers feel 2 months is long enough for #genhil to be happy!!!

I agree with both of you wildy and Rachel, it doesn't seem to make sense that Nikhil has gone from being incredibly protective to the point of obsession to ignoring her but I suspect it's intended as yet more evidence that when it comes to his obsessions, Nikhil can't multi-task. When he gets distracted
Spoiler
by failing to win the Fun Run and then spotting his sister with David
it would seem that he loses his focus on Gennie and the baby and can't find a happy medium which allows him to balance all these things appropriately. Then again Gennie has been hyper-sensitive during this pregnancy (that's being charitable!) so maybe it's a combination of factors. I have thought they've been going back to the well too many times lately with these pointless disagreements though and I think it is preventing any real growth in Nikhil's character. His inability to learn from his mistakes, or to act before disaster strikes, is now reaching the point of being incredibly predictable and dull. It's time for a change. There is so much more they could have done and could be doing with this story. Not least of which is exploring Gennie's own sad family history and her feelings about being a Mum. Similarly, how does she now see her professional future? Does Nikhil perhaps want her to be a stay at home Mum, or does she want to return to her PA job? How about some happy moments for them, decorating the nursery, talking about possible names? The current development just seems contrived for some temporary and unnecessary conflict over an issue that should never have arisen in the first place.

Agree with your post Telly Tot; it would be good to see Gennie thinking about maternity leave (after all she is only about 8 weeks away from giving birth) and whether or not she will continue to work after the baby is born. It will also be interesting to see who actually runs the factory over the next few months.

I am not surprised to see that Charity is involved in the upset next week after all I seem to recall that Gennie hated living with her when she moved into Victoria Cottage last year following a row with Jai.

And lets hope that after their disagreements next week we get to see a couple of scenes where they are bickering about names for the baby and how they should decorate the nursery.

Rik did say that they would row over baby names, but have some cute moments to do with it as well! Hopefully we will see those scenes soon.

It wasn't that long ago that Nikhil was stressed out by his family, not sure why he doesn't see how unhappy Gennie is about living with them.
Even though it's a big house, surely it's not big enough for everyone that is living there.

Exactly! No wonder Gennie moves out later this week! He seems more interested in drama with David/Pyria than giving Gennie any attention.

Agree with you Rachel; it's not that long ago that Nikhil was practically suffocating Gennie with attention, now he barely notices she's there and his family treat her like some kind of hired help.

I also find it hard to believe that they have not bought anything for the baby - what happened to the Nikhil's blue file which they were working through. Still at least the baby will have the bright orange runnning suit to wear.

I wanted to murder him tonight!!! Hopefully once they move in together he will go back to being caring Nikhil again. We get some cute #genhil moments
