I need a couple in Emmerdale to root for at the moment since Jimmy and Nicola are at odds. And i'm hardly beaming with glee at Adam and Ella either

See I love Chas but i do agree her involvement has complicated things a little. Not to mention Nikhil seems to transform into this sexually confident man whenever he's with her

Gennie and Nikhil's scenes have been really cute and fun to watch and i'm hoping they get together soon

I'd like Gennie and Nikhil to get together. I don't think Nikhil actually likes Chas, but just enjoys having any woman at all as he feels left out with Jai and Charity being together. I think if he and Gennie actually got together he'd realise that Chas wasn't right for him at all.

Have to agree

Chas doesn't even appear to like Nikhil- it seemed to come out of nowhere because it is a plot device- and a poor one at that- when Chas isn't standing him up they are completely incredible couple

Nikhil's asking Gennie where to bring Chas on dates, bringing Gennie shopping, letting Gennie choose Chas's present
Chas and Nikhil are going nowhere:yawn:

Hopefully they won't drag their relationship out too long- she is inevitably going to end up back with Carl

And Nikhil 2.0 isn't good enough for Gennie, although he does appear to be normal Nikhil around Gennie so maybe there is hope yet

Its obvious both the Sharma brothers relationships arent going to last. Jai and Charity are going to split and Charity will end up back with Cain. And Nikhil and Chas will inevitably split and Chas will go back to Carl and Nikhil will finally get together with Gennie.

Gennie broke my heart tonight .

Once again Nikhil was ignorant of her obviousness towards him despite insinuating that he's more than just Gennie's 'boss'.

Both characters - Gennie in particular - are so lovely that I'm more disheartened by their misguided affections than the likes of Paddy's exclusion or Hazel and Aaron's struggle which are probably aimed to attract out sympathy more that Genhil.

Emmerdale should devote an episode to these two where they realise their feelings for each other and they can kiss in the rain or something for dramatic effect (okay that probably sounds a bit lame but I just want to see some Genhil love )

Love this pairing and both long overdue some serious screentime

They are a nice pair who could get married and have babies without affairs/fighting/drama ad nauseum.

I'd rather watch 10 hours of Gennie and Nikhil than this Aaron Jackson nonsense

Emmerdale needs more balance at the moment and giving likeable characters like Gennie and Nikhil a happy storyline would be a good start

Couldn't agree more with this and I agree wholeheartedly overall that they should become a couple and soon. They are two of the most likeable characters in the show and they definitely suit each other (unless Nikhil and Chas - don't get me started).

I was lurking on another Emmerdale where they were balancing out the positives and negatives of the show so far, and honestly, these two are the only positive thing about it at the moment, and its a shame that the two characters that are carrying the show for me are always overlooked with regards screentime.

If you're paying attention bosses at Emmerdale, realise that we want to see these lovely characters come to the forefront instead of recycling the same characters over and over - and should we be lucky to get more screentime from them, please don't drown them in misery as has been done with almost every character in the show!

I'm looking forward to plenty of topless (or just underwear) scenes from Nikhil, if/when he and Gennie finally get it on

I think I can guess the thread! If you ever feel like de-lurking and adding your list- it would be a very welcome addition

A normal couple who are actually happy for more than five mins

It's a CRAZY idea but it just might work

I like Genneh, but I'm getting tired of her passivity. She needs to tell Chas about her feelings for Nikhil and get her to back off. She, then, needs to start subtly flirting with Nikhil to test the waters and see if there is any chance for them.

I definitely wouldn't say no to this but I can't see Genhil being the type of couple who always crawl out of bed with each other. They have potential to be a sweeter, more loyal David and Leyla but even at that we haven't seen David with his shirt off for a while

Aww but that's what I love about Genneh - her shyness (is that a word?) - there are way too many flirtatious, big-chested slappers in Emmerdale at the moment and Gennie portrays a genuinely lovely person which are few and far between in Soaps in general. I'd like to see Nikhil make the first move (call me old fashioned!) once he realises his fling with Chas is just that, a fling, whereas Gennie is the love of his life

What he has with Chas is fun. She's been a great "teacher" for Nikhil, arming him with some much needed confidence and loosening him up a little. Hopefully he'll use these qualities to woo Gennie for a proper romance, because I feel a frisson of excitement each time they're onscreen together!

Don't think they're gonna be in a rush to put these two together.

From Inside soap - Stuart Blackburn talks about the summer storylines.

Spoiler
Lovelorn Gennie is set to confess her feelings to Nikhil this summer - but will he reciprocate?
The end of his fling with her half sister, Chas, will give Gennie the chance to make her move. The trouble is that Nikhil can't see that the lass could be his Miss Right.
"Gennie's heart is gonna be broken again & again", sighs Stuart. "Nikhil's problem is that he wants to be his brother, Jai. Even if you stick happiness in front of him, he won't see it".

Great

Nikhil 2.0 has ruined one of ther nicer characters the show has had in a long time and if this storyline is just about
Spoiler
heaping misery on Gennie-
frankly- I don't want to know about it

Very worrying suggestion by Stuart Blackburn
Spoiler
Nikhil's problem is that he wants to be his brother, Jai.

Really???? Since when? Cause he didn't used to want that- he was quite disapproving of Jai's carry on with Faye and Charity- he wanted Jai to take him more seriously in terms of the business and but he was never trying to emulate Jai

See if this is what the the producers really think- I can see why there are problems right now- I must have been watching a different show to them- and I preferred that show

Nooo!!!
Spoiler
Her heart has been broken enough, stop playing around Emmerdale!!

I do kind of see what they mean though about
Spoiler
Nikhil wanting to be like Jai - or at least Nikhil 2.0 does - as evident from his raunchy behaviour with Chas such as Jai has done with previous flings

I hope this waiting we'll be incurring is including the past few weeks we've seen of an upset Gennie cause while I'll never be disappointed seeing Gennie, if they drag it out it will lose the loveliness that it could entail.

It really appears they are going to drag this storyline out to such a degree that the viewers will have lost interest

If we have months of
Spoiler
Nikhil messing Gennie around
(not really a spoiler as I don't know what happens but just in case)

Then by the time he comes to his sense I won't want Gennie to be with him

Gennie is too good for Nikhil 2.0-
Spoiler
if we are now going to have months of Nikhil 2.0 messing her around

this will only convince me that she shouldn't bother with him at all

They are dragging it out. However, as long as they get together in the end I'll be happy. They need to give Gennie an admirer so that Nikhil gets jealous.

I'm not surprised they intend to drag it out. How many other storylines have been dragged out now in Emmerdale to the point where the viewers honestly dont care about the end result (hint: ALL of them!).

The scenes with Gennie last night were the ones I connected with most and I have to say that the actress is very convincing. I always thought she was underrated and she proves this everytime she actually gets something to do.

While I would like to see her happy, her scenes last night were totally believable and heart breaking. I've been known to get a little heavy after a few glasses of red myself () so I don't blame her for pouring her heart out. Theres only so many of those scenes we can stand though before Emmerdale ruin Gennie by turning her into a miserable character as has been done with most other characters. If anyone at Emmerdale is reading this - this is probably the best story in the soap at the moment, don't ruin it!

Look on the bright side mate - only 5 episodes of Jackson to go - thats even if he's in all of them.

Gennie was so sad yesterday. My heart broke for her. I know what it is like to want someone so badly, you feel like your heart really hurts. The actress is doing a great job showing how much pain Gennie is in over her love for Nikhil. She looked so lovely too. It is impossible to believe that Nikhil or some other man hasn't chased after her.

Ah Gennie, your prince will come along one of these days.

Do pop on and share your views it's not terribly positive at the moment but we are doing are best

Sian was fantastic last night- I think a lot of us could completely relate to having a few too many drinks and then bluttering something like that out- and the drink makes it all seem so much worse as well- very realistic and best part of episode for me- poor lovely Gennie

The actress has suggested (on twitter) that
Spoiler
Gennie is a little more feisty and stands up for herself a bit more in upcoming episodes

hopefully this is the case

I've changed my mind- I was going to avoid this episode but I am now really looking forward to Jackson's demise-am deligted about it- can't come quickly enough - and I won't be drowning in tears for poor Hazel and poor Aaron because they are idiots for not trying to ever get him any help- I just couldn't care less anymore- the story has had no redeeming qualities- it sends a dreadful message that suicide is the first solution to life's problems and frankly the sooner it's over the better
