This is an interesting idea and could definitely work, and in fact it seems a very soap-like thing to do, but I can't imagine who they could put her with?

Bob? PLEASE do not revisit this relationship. I never understood why she went after Bob, espcially when she had What's-His-Face-From-Hollyoaks at the time.

That was kind of what I expected from this story - a genuine fairytale-esque love story as both characters are majestic enough to pull if off. However it seems unlikely now, but I would love to see a sort of fairytale ending with them. If they ever had an Emmerdale ball, they could have Nikhil show up at Gennie's, where she sits alone adamant about not going to the ball until her prince arives with a pair of expensive shoes that he helps her into. Soppy, me? No!

I just caused several of my fingers to cramp with an over dramatic rant over on that thread. I don't think I injected any positivity into it anyway, woops - I must learn to shut up sometime

I think Sian Reese Williams is a great actress. I never rated her much as first because her entrance to the show was incredibly underwhelming, but when Hollyoaks-Boy left, she really pulled off her scenes very well, as she did last night also. if Emmerdale gave her a proper storyline, there's no reason why she wouldn't be up there in the running for best actress at the Soap Awards next year, as I have every faith in the actress to pull off whatever she gets.

Thanks for the spoile by the way, I hadn't read that before. I would like to see Gennie gain a little confidence but I wouldnt like to see her in fights or shouting her mouth off at people cause it doesn't seem like something she would do. Gennie is beautiful and he style really works for her so I'd like to see her realise this and use it to her advantage.

Gennie looked so lovely today. Her outfit for work was very flattering as were her heels and purple coat. Nikhil has got to be blind. I felt so bad for her. I'm glad that Bob knows and is supporting her.

I've not seen any recent spoilers but I'm still hoping these two get together.

I know that it's obvious that Gennie has feelings for Nikhil, but where has it been said that Nikhil likes Gennie? As far as I know it hasn't been said anywhere....this reminds me of when she slept with Bob and how she behaved afterwards...untill she got with Jamie. I don't like Gennie she is so passive, why does she always choose unavailable men to go after?

In fairness to her, she liked Nikhil before he got with Chas. I never understood her thing with Bob, she can do so much better .

It hasn't been said yet if Nikhil likes Gennie, but it seems like one of those situations where he'll wake up one day and feel like an idiot for not realising his feelings for Gennie sooner. Even if he doesn't like her, he might get to. They often hang out outside of work and get along well

I'd imagine Nikhil is influenced by his brother, even if he doesn't realise it or want to admit it. From what we know of Nikhil would we have paired him up with someone like Chas before they got together? I wouldn't have..

So it's possible he has feelings for Gennie but is worried about Jai making fun of him. That Gennie would not be socially acceptable as a girlfriend, which is the sort of thing that usually only happens in school.

Aye I agree. I remember reading somewhere, I think it was from and interview with Stuart Blackburn, where he said that Nikhil looks up to Jai and wants to be like him (why, I don't know? Old Nikhil was much more likeable). The fact that Gennie is looked upon as one of the 'village mingers' is more farfetched than the whole Jackson saga. If I lived in that village she'd be top of my list!

When i was putting out the new magazines at work on Tuesday i had a cheeky read of an interview with the actress who play Gennie. It was in Inside Soap i think, or All About Soap. They both look the same to me anyway

It basically just went over what we already know, but she said that she thinks they are made for each other and that deep down they're both a bit geeky and they are well suited

It's ridiculous how eager i am for them to get together, i can't be doing with dragging out the 'will they, won't they' stage.

Moi Aussi, Stig. If anyone in the Dales was deserving of a lifetime of happiness it would be her. She and Nikhil are definitely well suited. they're both quite shy (excluding Gennie's outburst today - also excluding Nikhil 2.0) and quirky as well as genuinly lovely people. Its a shame we have to be dragged through this turmoil process instead of just having two lovely well-matched people go on a couple of dates like normal people as they slowly fall in love with each other. But that's not depressing enough for Emmerdale

She really is fantastic. She's actually a great little actress and in a way, I'd love for her to get a gritty and tragic story if it meant she no longer gets overlooked. Its a shame she's always sidelined because the general viewer probably won't care much for her when she gets big episodes like this to show what she's made of. TBH Gennie made tonight's episode great for me. I hope TPTB realise that scenes like tonight are quite poignant and powerful, and not cheap and tacky flashforwards of the sky changing so that we can see how devoted Aaron is to the love of his life who he never touched / smiled at / looked happy to be around / killed. TPTB should invest their time in the Gennie/Nikhil love story. Their love (well, Gennie's) is already more believable.

Hopefully it happens soon though cause I hate seeing Gennie sad. She was amazing tonight and I didn't think she was out of line when shouting at Chas (okay the Aaron comment was a bit far and she shouldn't have attacked Chas' mothering skills as she has been trying really hard lately). Charity annoyed me something terrible though! First mocking Gennie that Jamie didn't love her properly, then complaining about thinking about Cameron sexually as he's practically her 'son in law', yet she had no problem bonking Cain, her (second?) cousin, and then pulling Gennie away from Chas when she delivered some accurate home truths.

Wow, our Gennie was on fire today. I was cheering her on as she lashed out at Chas. It is about time someone told Chas some hard truths about how she treats men and her flawed relationship with Aaron. Charity is such a cow throwing Gennie. Charity and Chas are two of a kind. Violence is the only way that two hard face cows can think of to shut up the truth about their ugliness. Go Gennie! She better not apologize.
