Both actors are exactly the same age- Sian just turned 30 but I think Rik turns 30 in January which makes him about two months younger!

I was majorly disappointed that there were no Genhil moments in last night's hour long programme, but I loved the office phonecall between Nikhil and Gennie.

Nikhil was adorable in the way he was shyly trying to have a loving chat with Gennie whilst being teased by Jai. I could have kissed him myself the way he tried to blow a kiss to her on the phone!

I think one of the reasons every interaction is so absorbing for us is because the characters have been developed so well. Rik and Sian are both so talented and literally bring the characters alive. Nikhil as a misunderstood, slightly insecure, handsome guy whose shy little smile and puppy dog eyes hide a passionate man. Gennie is a lovely, fiesty girl who despite being constantly told that she isn't pretty has developed a quiet confidence in herself. Both are extremely endearing in their own ways.We get to see them as real people with all their qualities and flaws. I think enormous credit goes to both of them as most of the time they are given less airtime and their story has been a background one.

I wish the producers would realise that the public have fallen in love with these two. Their story needs to be brought more to the forefront. Cutting out important scenes involving their story is not a way of keeping their audience happy.

Hi! Tried to quote your post, but my stupid phone won't let me. Agree with everything you've said in your post. Really hope the PTB recognise that this relationship is the best thing about emmerdale right now, and has lots of fans behind it! Oh and I also loved nikhil blowing a kiss down the phone in the office, so hilarious and cute! And Jai's reaction was brilliant haha

Felt so disapointed there was no scenes with genhil last night have waited months & months for this lovely pair to get together & have been left feeling more that a little dissapointed ..... not because of the actors themselves they were great as ever in the little scenes they have been given by the ptb!

Cant believe they cut the mama sharma catching them scene & just made the office scene of them together really like "what have i missed something here" , then yesterday when they have just put them together have no Gennie in the entire hour long episode surely they should of had her with her boyfriend after his dads had a car accident instead of up sulking in the bath because he had cancelled the date like thats realistic such bad bad writing.
These pair are completely being overlooked then giving a load of airtime to complete joke relationship katy & declan & the horrendous Maurel

Morning people. Well said! Especially the sentence in bold. Love your description of Nikhil. After Gennie first kissed him on Monday, (just before she nearly mounted him over the desk) he gave her THE look and the way he pulled her towards him and his hands were all over her certainly screamed passion! Gah that scene is just epic there's no other way to describe it.

I must say I agree. Nikhil would definately have told Gennie about his dad's accident and she would certainly have understood and come round to support him. I must say I did think Gennie would have been in the episode, I mean Charity was and they are both Dingles.It would have made sense for Gennie to have been included as Cain is her half? brother. That would have been in keeping with hers and Nikhil's characters. Not Nikhil cancelling, seemingly withought putting Gennie in the loop, and her sulking in the bath! Come on ED please! Monday and Tuesday's episodes were brill please keep the writing on this level and don't make them a background couple because I reckon they have more fans and people love them more than any of the other characters. Give us what we want which is Genhil, Genhil and more Genhil.

I too thought Gennie would have appeared at some point during the episode giving the fact that Nikhil's dad was in an accident and Nicky was leaving -- you would have thought there would have been an awkward moment between the two (or three) or something.
Aside from the Sharma drama the episode was quite boring, i'm not really feeling the new family (Ruby etc -- can't even remember anymore names?!) and again Marlon and Laurel *yuk*.

Anyway the phone scene was cute. On another note did anyone see the little 'oh' Nikhil did to Gennie in the pub before he stood up to Nicky (23rd Novemeber) I think Gennie says "Its a sacrifice, but i'd love to." And then the 'oh' hehe *fangirl moment*

I've just watched it again and you're right he does say 'oh' but it's very quietly said . Gah soooo cute! Fangirl moment coming on too. I love the way Nikhil's arm is protectively around her shoulders. They were so close together in that scene and Iove the way their faces were only inches apart and the loving little smiles and looks and kisses they shared. MORE OF THOSE PLEASE ED!!

They're both just too cute for words. I've spent my entire weeks holiday on ITV player watching this weeks episodes just to see their scenes all over again!! Looking forward to so much more from them

Still disappointed tho not to have any explanation for the "missing scene" - somebody somewhere knows what's going on.

Have just emailed ITV again and this time have sent a picture of that scene to make sure they understand what I am talking about. I asked them to tell us the truth so will have to see when/if I get a reply. Honestly do they think we are idiots and wouldn't have noticed?

I am still really dissapointed that we didnt get no genhil scenes last night but the way they wrote it really annoyed me aswell why did they have to say that gennie was sulking they could of shown a scene where nikhil was on the phone telling her that he would come round after the police had gone that was really awful writing

Agree with you there! Just a small scene with Nikhil on the phone explaining about his dad's accident would have covered it. Come on ED please don't let us down! Otherwise I will have to write the Genhil scenes for you.

YAY!! Let's hope they get back to you. I take it Will Thornton (I think that's his name) didn't tweet you back then? All we want is a simple answer, whatever their reason for cutting it was. It's a big topic of conversation on here and the least we deserve is an explanation!

By the way, pardon my ignorance but what does TPTB mean?!

If you wrote the genhil scenes they would need a 24 hour show to fit everyone else in

That's just it no-one else would be in it except for those two. A whole episode dedicated to them. Imagine!!

That's a nice thought. Though Gennie would have understood if Nikhil had told her the truth, which is what should have happened because it is in keeping with their characters. Nikhil wouldn't have kept her out of the loop and she wouldn't have been sulking. Wonder if we will see any Genhil tonight? There's be no spoilers for these for tonight have there???

NO there are no genhil spoilers but nikhil is in tonights episode so we can only hope that gennie is in them aswell and hopefully together

Would love Gennie to be in tonight's ep but somehow I have a feeling that she will be next in it on Monday again. I hope I'm wrong and we get a lovely Genhil scene or two tonight.

Yeah probley why would they have any scenes with the most popular and adorable couple they have when they can show declan/katie and maural scenes because we all want to see them dont we :yawn:

I was glad there wasn't much Maurel in yesterday's ep and I think that tonight's ep is mostly about the Sharmas again and I SO HOPE THAT WHERE NIKHIL GOETH, THERE GOETH GENNIE. It makes sense for her to be by his side now there are together. I hope the scriptwriters realise that because Genhil scenes just make me insanely happy.
