Anyone read the DS Interview with Stuart Blackburn that went up today? In the character teasers part there's a bit about Gennie.

Now there's no specific mention of Gennie/Nikhil but he does say to "stick with the story currently on screen as it won't disappear" and that Gennie's story will last into the new year.

So hopefully in the next few weeks we'll start to see some progression.

Anyone seen the spoilers for next Friday it looks interesting..

Least we know they will get together eventually. Kind of annoying that it will be a row, hopefully they will make up.

Yay!!! Atlast there seems to be some progress with our lovely two. According to DS on Friday 19th episode, David will tell Nikhil that he should ask Gennie out ! ( Although we might have to wait another 2 months for any further progress! )

Lets hope he takes his advice! But something tells me David may be drunk when he says that so I don't know how seriously Nikhil will take that. Unfortunately I don't think Nikhil will make a move unless he gets encouragement from Jai. At least he sends her flowers next week anyway - progress!

I've missed these two immensely. The characters flooding the screens the past few weeks have made the show painful to watch.

I really hope that doesn't mean they are going to drag it out for another 6 months or so-

Even if it is one step forward and two steps back it's still better than most of what's on Emmerdale at present

Apparently they are in tonight's epsiode- in between all the Aaron Chas scenes

I can't wait! I like slow and proper developments in characters and their relationships - but if this was any more of a slow burner it would be like watching a bonfire being lit by someone with 2 sticks !

What annoys me a little is how quickly some of the other 'main character' relationships develop. Look how quickly the Katie and Declan love-in is developing - someone at Emmerdale please give the Gennie and Nikhil relationship a push! Like I said before this is taking slow-burner too far!

Which could mean there's plently of angst to come-

So what kind of 'angst' do you think there may be? Another rejection for Gennie? Her rejecting him? ( not likely I know!) Someone else coming between them ? One of them going off with someone else?

I'm afraid to even speculate but Stuart Blacburn has said
"Gennie's heart is gonna be broken again & again"

Some people in soaps never have the happy endings By the looks of what SB has said Gennie may be one of these tragic heroines
Unfortunately it is always the characters that you most care about - Heather in Eastenders being another such person. Oh well I'll just have to enjoy the few moments of happiness that Gennie does have.

Aww shooks! The first episode this week that I'll miss and it will have my favorite character. If Gennie's in either of the episodes though I'll have to catch up.

I hope its no more angst - or at least not for Gennie . They do seem to be very jokey with each other.
I remember once Sian tweeted saying something like "I wonder if @RikMakarem is looking foward to working with me tomorow". I asked her if they were going to share a little kissy poo to which she replied "Eww gross!" - But that's actually a bad thing cause I want them together ASAP!

TBH I wouldn't trust anything Stuart Blackburn says, but I also wouldn't trust him to continue keeping Gennie the wonderful little person she is

If anyone deserves happiness in the village, it's Gennie. She's earned it. (If anyone needs happiness - its Aaron!). Gennie is a loveable character which normally means TPTB would know that people want her to be happy, but TPTB at Emmerdale at the moment are a bit backwards so God knows what the future has in store for her!

Even if Gennie is perennially heartbroken at least she is top of the current favourite character poll- the viewers at least like nice sweet characters even if the writers don't

I'm hoping the "heart broken again and again" quote Is just a allusion to the fact that Nikhil is utterly clueless to how much he really likes Gennie. Surely they can't have these two in limbo for months on end?!

Nice to see factory scenes tonight, loved Nikhil sitting on Gennie's desk Sian's face was so funny in that scene!

And for the record, Gennie is one of my favourite characters too!

Sitting on her desk and leaning over her isn't really helping Gennie get over him is it!

Thank God my favorite character and favorite pairing (most of the time) were so prominent today as it was a lovely distraction from the Aaron and Chas show.

Nikhil was disgraceful tonight. Jai actually should chose Charity over him because at least she has a way of getting people to do what she wants and she can (and does) flash her knockers to seal potential prospects. That being said the factory staff were a bit out of control tonight too and I thought Lisa in particular was a little OTT.

Anywho, my heart broke for my dearest Gennie tonight, especially during the last scene where she stormed off crying following Nikhil's ignorance. She really should have given him a slap for suggesting her leaving had to do with Nikhil rejecting her - the little ****! Gennie was right, he was very up himself. He actually doesn't deserve the sweet, innocent, lovely, graceful and beautiful Gennie because she's well out of his league at the moment. He better pull himself together - ASAP

I seriously have no idea what the writers are doing because this storyline wrote itself and they have still managed to make a mess of it

I really miss the old Nikhil- he was a lovely guy

Last night's episode ended with Nikhil once again attacking Gennie and getting personal- Sian was fantasic in that scene by the way

How much more of this do they expect the viewers to watch- this isn't a love story- do they have any idea what they are doing because I can tell you this much- if Nikhil ever speaks to Gennie like this again then I don't want Gennie and Nikhil to get together because he doesn't bloody deserve her anymore

Nikhil was nasty to poor Gennie last night...but if he gets his kit off in future scenes, I will forgive him

You have always been very fair to him in that respect

I think the writers have to get their act together. For a love story to be a great love story the audience have to be able to sympathesize and understand both characters. They need to have some redeemable qualities : be loveable, caring , sensitive, etc.
At the moment Nikhil is lacking any of these qualities. He used to be a nice guy. Now he seems to have morphed into this bitter, nasty and vindictive person who has no qualms about hurting someone with stinging words.
The writers need to take a look at where they are going with this story. I hope they show Nikhil doing some huge grovelling and wooing before Gennie gets together with him . I also hope that they don't have a repeat of this behavior from him as it gives the impression that this is acceptable.
