Yeah, I agree entirely. TPTB have created the impression that as long as they got Genhil together, we would all be satisfied and that would be all they'd need to do with them. I don't have any faith anymore in Genhil being able to go the distance. After waiting so long to see them get together, any screentime they've had has been beyond disappointing and as you say Red Lips, virtually non-existant. I was so excited to see how things would unfold between them, only to now be left feeling extremely let down. I may be totally wrong here but I can't help but get the feeling that either Rik or Sian may leave in the near future - most likely for me to be Rik. Just my thoughts, it may not be right but there's something definately off about how TPTB are dealing with Genhil.
I only started watching Emmerdale after I was flicking through the channels and saw a scene with thse two. I now feel that unless Emmerdale change the way that they are treating Genhil (as an afterthought), then I may stop watching it altogether !

I read this recently on Twitter, think it gives some hope for some up coming scenes...
![]() Tweeted by Sian:“@Reese_Williams: Today I filmed possibly my favourite ever scene I've done at emmerdale. Only 20 seconds long, but SO much fun. @RikMakarem” Tweeted by Rik: @Reese_Williams quite possibly your greatest moment in Emmerdale. Genhil fans will NOT be dissapointed! |

20 seconds? I certainly hope that Rik and Sian are right that this scene(s) are good. However, like others I have to lament about the lack of airtime that Genhil is getting. Genhil's story cannot be told properly in a few seconds here and there, but that is all TPTB seems appear to willing to give them most of the time.

Based on past performance, you wouldn't put it past them.
Spoiler
Both actors deserve better than the odd minute here and there- viewers certainly do

Cute Genhil scenes today !!
It was such a nice change to show them being like a normal couple rather than the strained, neurotic relationship. There was the cute phone conversation between Nikhil and Gennie whilst he was at the Registry Office. The little chat between them : ''...You put the phone down. No! You put the phone down ...'' was a lovely reminder of how things could be between them. ![]() Again, at the reception it was nice to see their cute hugging of each other and the little loving looks. The way he gazed at her lovingly made me smile. Please note TPTB : We would like to see more of this. I don't mind them doing a grittier storyline for them with Nikhil's OCD/anorexia as long as they still interlace this with loving Genhil moments. |

Nikhil looked so handsome in that suit today. He and Gennie were adorable at the reception, but I don't understand why Gennie was not at the wedding. The factory could run itself for a couple hours.

I've given up on Emmerdale watching 25 mins of crap hoping for a tiny scene with genhil is no longer worth it. Also reading spoilers I'm unlikely to watch again anytime soon. Why are this couple treated so crapply yet Marlon/Laurel who have no chemistry whatsoever are treated like the greatest romance since Romeo and Juliet.
Sorry for the rant but Emmerdale has been bugging me recently |

How long is Nikhil going to continue living with Jai and Charity? I don't see any reason that he cannot get his own place. I would prefer he and Gennie delay living together until they are sure about their commitment to each other.

They still had a few happy scenes at the reception which is better than nothing ![]() Quote:

It would make sense for him to get his own place or even live with David for a while but I suspect he'll end up living with Gennie- though I think it is too soon
I know this is a soap where people live with others even when they do not have to, but I would really like to see Nikhil become more independent and break the grip that Jai and his family have over him. After all that business with Jai choosing Charity over him to run the factory, you would think that Nikhil would be contemplating making a career move. Jai made it clear that if anything happened to him, it all goes to Charity and Nikhil would be out on his ear or we supposed to forget that little fact. I would like to see Nikhil go into a business partnership with David or even Declan. |

I would love David and Nikhil as roommates. I had not considered that possibility.

Gennie is a great support to him but clearly Nikhil has got a lot if issues which have nothing to do with her but which she's likely to have to try to deal with Moving in with David would actually be great for him as he needs some space from his family

Nikhil adores his brother and constantly seeks his approval- given how the rest of his family treat him it's hardly a surprise- Jai treats him better than the rest of the family but not much better- think we are supposed to believe that where Charity is concerned love is blind but I don't think Jai was fair to Nikhil

I think having Alicia as a housemate would drive Nikhil's OCD into overdrive
![]() Think Alicia would be a good influence on him actually- she'd probably call him on his OCD behaviour quicker than Gennie or David![]() ![]() Speaking of they need to decide what they are doing with all this jogging and OCD cleaning- is it leading somewhere

I disagree with y'all Genhil have got rubbish.
I still think the writers should have kept them apart. They seem to have lost their magic for me. |

Haven't been here in a while!
I, like all of you it seems, am a bit pissed off at the lack of Genhil. I'm enjoying the little bits we're getting though, and in her radio interview Sian said that she had a busy time in work coming up, so guessing that we are going to be getting more Genhil, albeit not straight away. At the end of the day, they're still the same Genhil who brought me here, and I think we've just got to hope that TPTB pull their socks up on this one! |

Although I too am missing the Genhil if you think about it Emmerdale probably owe Rik Makarem some substantial time off. Nikhil was on screen nearly every week and practically every other episode towards the end of last year between his story with Gennie, in the background in the factory, his 'romance' with Chas, Maisie's exit, the Mia story, Jai/Charity, the arrival of his family etc. I'd love to know how the character count ended last year because Nikhil must have been at least top 5 if not top 3. He just goes unnoticed more in comparison to Chas and Aaron because he was very underused the previous year and is quite liked by the audience
