Help!! Nikkai Video Sender
*R.C.
25-05-2011
Hi guys,
I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me
I moved house last month, and unplugged my Nikkai Video Sender (model A96JJ), without really paying much attention. Now I'm settled into my new house, and am trying to set it back up, but can't remember what gets plugged in where... I've tried every combintation I can think of, but no picture appears on my TV screen.
I use it to watch virgin media channels in my bedroom, so believe it just needs to be plugged into my virgin media box? One possibility I'm thinking, is that Virgin gave be a different box when I moved house - this one is a HD box, could that be the problem?
I am the least technical person I know, so please any help will be gratefully received!!

Have you checked that the 2 power adaptors used for the sender & receiver are connected correctly?.

Although the 2 adaptors may look the same, one has a higher power rating than the other... 500mA for the transmitter, 300mA for the receiver.

Further to above, also check the 2 scart leads that came with the sender kit.

Again they may look the same, but they are wired differently. One should be labelled 'Transmitter' or 'Out', and the other one labelled 'Receiver' or 'In'.

If the leads have been swapped over in error after your house move, (easy to do!), you won't get a picture or sound.

Thanks for your replies.... everything looks correct, and still can't get it to work!

There's PDF manual available at http://www.maplin.co.uk/Media/PDFs/A96JJ%20manual.pdf , might be an idea to have a read through and double-check all your connections are correct.

Not familiar with the Virgin box, but if it has a scart connection, I can't see why the new box shouldn't work.

Maybe someone with this box type will be able to confirm?, there may be a menu setting that requires the scart to be 'enabled' ??.
