HELP!!!!!!
I want a DVD recorder...simply enough? Well I want one for two reasons; one to record programmes to keep from my Sky+ and two, to rescue my ageing VHS collection. I also want to spend less that £250.
The problem as I see it is that my VHS collection has varying picture quality, either due to tape age or generation of the material recorded.
I was all set to go for a Panasonic machine at £249 when I discovered that the model I was looking at (-R/RW format E55) only plays back the same format it records in!!! Also I was edged away from it by the sheer amount of +R/RW machines.
So switching my sights to the cheaper £150 Philips DVD-R70 I was all set to splash the cash when I discovered that the machine lacks a TBC and this could seriously affect my VHS dubs.
Now I'm facing the Sony RDR-GX3, at £238 with both RW recording formats and a TBC it seems outwardly to be the ideal solution.........here's where you guys come in
..............but is it?
Any ideas if the Sony really deserves to be the winner?
