I'm curious, how come we don't BBQ when it rains, when it's cloudy, and when it's winter?

Anyone know???

I love BBQs, but they're only good in the summer

IMO BBQ's are weather dependant - who wants to sit outside in the pouring rain / freezing cold?

ME! From April to October I have BBQ at least once a weekend and at least once during the week. Proper coal or brickettes and I am awesome at BBQs.

I am gob smacked you don't know - albeit i suspect you're just being obtuse

Nobody likes barbecues just for the food!

99% just want to eat alfresco & barbecue method of cooking is about the only option - in fact you could give them a fried rat and they would enjoy it just as much - so long as they're 'outside' enjoying friends and weather

I love BBQ's and I'm very excited that I now have a house with a garden so I can throw one this summer. But I am considering throwing one in the winter, inspired by that advert for that product I can't quite remember the name of. Think about it, fire in the winter, perfect.

We all know the States love their BBQs but some states their weather is actually too hot to eat outside or cook, Texas is stifling in the summer and always best to bbq September just right...lets face it who wants to sit out in over 100 degrees and heavy humidity..stifling to say the least..thats Texas though.

I Do love a bbq though and we seem to have ok weather here...my brother in law has a contraption thingy that covers the cooking area so he still bbq's in the rain...!

I've cooked on the bbq when it's been raining and in autumn/winter. I use it when it takes my fancy. It's a gas bbq and if it is cold or wet then I simply leave it in the garage and cook in there.

We have BBQ all year round. In the winter we have a raging fire to go with it.

Horrible idea! Neighbours often have them and they stink the house out.

Same here. I love a good BBQ, and so a few years back I took the plunge and built a stone one in the garden.

My husband is South African and he BBQ'd in the snow!
It's just some of us don't seem to like eating BBQ's in non sunny weather. At least grill or have someone grill it for you and eat it inside or use outside heaters.

Yeah, BBQ's are better in the summer, but BBQ's are delicious all year round - as long as you've got outside heaters or someone who won't mind grilling outside for you. Eating a BBQ inside isn't so bad either.

Grilled steak and chops are nice in front of the telly.

When you start talking about Texas you are talking about something completely different to our burgers and sausages and chicken drumsticks. BBQ is a way of life over there.

If you've ever eaten TX BBQ, you'll know why some tourists go over there solely for the food. Their food is so good. I always gain weight over there.

I've been watching a show on GoodFood called Primal Grill. It's anything and everything you can cook on a bbq and also he shows how to use different types such as the standard kettle, gas, Hibachi and wood/charcoal burning.

He did some nice chimicurri steaks on a wood burning grill. It was the proper Argentinian type with a flywheel to raise/lower the grill. Looked great.

We love our BBQ. Depending on what we are doing on it we will have it when the weather is horrid.

Chicken on the rotisserie for example, you cook with the lid down so it doesn't matter if it is raining.

When we have a bbq with kebabs and other nice foods though if it is sunny and warm we will sit outside and eat, but if it is cold we will cook it outside and bring it in.

I'm not keen although we have had a few. If we have one its steak and/or lamb chops. I can't stand going to other peoples with their cheap burgers, sausages and grill that hasn't been cleaned since last summer.
