Nuts vs Crisps

I just talked myself out of eating a packet of crisps and had a handful of dry roasted peanuts instead. Was that the healthier thing to do or are they even worse?

Eat everything and anything you want in moderation.

Depends on the crisps, nuts, amount etc.

I would guess that one handful of nuts is probably healthier than a bag of crisps. Just a guess though. Could be completely wrong

Nuts are far worse pound for pound, depends how many you ate.

Wouldn't nuts have more natural health benefits? Plus they are boiled rather than fried.

Ever since the nanny state started messing about with my nuts and crisps., i stopped eating them. They don't taste nice any more.

I tend to go for good quality crisps these days as they seem to last longer and are lower in fat. Red Sky or Tyrrells. Red Sky in particular only have 20g of fat per 100g of crisps plus lower salt as well and the Sour Cream & Bacon taste fantastic.

Planters are the best dry roasted nuts imo but unfortunately they are very difficult to get hold of. KP and own brand don't really cut it for me.

Red sky make my mouth bleed once went to belgium and tasted a packet of paprika flavour crisps since then nothing has come close , got a good mind to go over there on a ferry and fetch some back and start a campaign to get them imported.

Boiled?? These were dry roasted, with the powdery coating.

I think they are still boiled even if they do have a final roasting with the flavouring but don't quote me on that
Surely that is still healthier than frying though.

Yes, but the nanny state regulates what commercial producers make and shops sell, not what people eat.

If people depend on what others make and sell perhaps they're victims of another kind of nannyism.

I'm not saying I'd make my own crisps, as I'm sure I can't be bothered, but it is possible .
