What was your first mobile?
This has probably been asked before but there's no harm in another thread.
![]() Mine was a black Philips mobile very similar to this. I got it in 2002 it as a hand-me-down from my mother. It was an OK phone at the time. I was glad just to have one because I was the only kid in my year group who didn't have one previously. ![]() It's amazing how mobile phones have evolved since then; they're essentially pocket computers now, where as back then they were still very basic. I wonder what they'll be like in another decade from now? |

This was mine
http://www.retrofones.com/vodafone-m...l?currency=AUD I think it was about 1998 ish. I loved it and remember wondering what 'messaging' was for in the menu! I had no idea when I got it about SMS. Now I text more than talk.

hmmm...I started back in 1997 so you'll excuse me if I post a few
![]() started off on a Motorola mr30(extendible aerial!) then soon after switched to a mr602(still v noticable aerial). switched to Siemens for no real reason (missing the StarTACs) and went through the C35 then the SL42 (first phone I had with MP3!) Then waited far far far too long for the SX1 to be released over here. Funky keypad though |

Nokia 3210, around the turn of the milennium.
Better than the games, was programming your own ringtones - which wasn't that difficult if you can play an instrument.

I have had a few phones via pay as you go from Orange, 3, and BT Cellnet, the first one I had though was a Motorola ( I think the model number was a 3788e) it had a just a normal monochome screen and a small aerial. I lost it a few years ago when I moved house.

In which case so was mine on one2one (now t-mobile) in early 1999. Unlimited weekday evening calls to local and national (yes national) landlines for £25 a month. Saved me a small fortune in university hall of residence phone cards |

Also OP I remember that philips mobile as people used to chip them so you could put £10 on and the credit would never run out. I think what happened was your credit would go down when you made calls but when you turned it off & on again it would have £10 on it again.
BT/02 got wise to it though quite quickly. |
