So I went in to have a nosey at the HTC Sensation. Great piece of kit might I add... but here it comes. A staff member came over and asked me to leave because I was carrying an o2 branded bag.

I laughed him off but he just looked at me, I waited what seemed an eternity, but must have been all of 15 seconds, turned and headed straight to the door.

I don't think I'll be back in a VF store again.

This was in Belfast.

Wonder if Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys will start doing this

Sadly there are a few people who take things far to seriously and need to get a life!

You should just go back in every week with a different bag from an opposing network.

Nah, the sensation's only a timed exclusive with them.

Wow that's pretty funny and quite ridiculous too

I used a sainsburys carrier bag today in M&S rather than buying one of their food bags. They didn't seem to bother. Also used a tesco bag in wilkinsons again without them bothering one bit

I couldn't be bothered with them. If I was a customer of theirs then I might have or even wanting to use their network (I switched our spare phone from Vodafone to Virgin Mobile ages ago) but beyond that I don't need or want an apology which is what they'll likely give me.

If you read my thread about their appalling customer service, it seems that certain employees of this company need dealing with for their attitude problem.

Sorry OP, but I think this is either a load of nonsense, or you've left out some details.

Don't get humpty, or go demanding why I don't believe you - I just don't.

Agreed - I can't see this happening the way it is described above.

As supermarkets want you to use your own bags and you get funny looks if you ask to use theirs, I just bring other competitors carry bags with me. After all a nice bright orange Sainsburys carrier bag always looks nice at a Tescos Checkout!

Hi Awshum-Yawn

Thank you for posting and bringing this to our attention.

We’re extremely disappointed and sorry that you have experienced this as a result of going into one of our stores to check out the new HTC Sensation. It’s certainly not Vodafone’s policy, and we don’t make a habit of this.

If you have any Vodafone queries that you’d like to discuss, please e-mail us via our Contact Us page, using WRT135 as the subject and we’ll be sure to be in touch.

We certainly agree with you on the HTC Sensation, it is a great bit of kit

Kind Regards

Simon

Sainsburys give me nectar points for not using plastic bags when i use my waitrose bags. I felt shifty the first time taking them out but they said it was fine.

Isn't it a bit risky for O2 to tweet that until they have some kind of actual verification?

Very strange behavior of the seller. Instead of winning customers he lost them. This does not make sense.

That will be why Simon_Vodafone has replied to this topic otherwise it probably wouldn't have been noticed.

The squirrel with the O2 bag is funny

That squirrel is a work of genius. Good one O2, shows a sense of humour.

I did tweet this to both O2 and Vodafone on the day of the OP which may also be why it got picked up by them both

I wasn't a customer just a browser and with the o2 bag in hand I guess he thought he wouldn't get a sale. He was right anyway, they didn't lose a customer, I just wanted a nosey at the Sensation.

For all he knew you had a £10 phone for your nan in the bag. He just sounds like a lazy salesman to me.

Sorry I can, it's what some people are like, simply pathetic!

Why not say something like "Your bag looks like it's breaking Sir, how would you like one of our better ones?", hence removing the competitive advertising? Failing that, just shut up!

Things like this do happen in the retail business, you would be surprised at some of the behavior of some staff in the retail industry.

I have contract phones on O2 and Vodafone, had something like this happened to me i would of terminated my agreements with the company that treated me like s**t!

I purchased a pay go dongle from a T-mobile shop a couple of years ago then headed off to the O2 shop to purchase a pay monthly phone, i got some looks although i can only assume it was because of the T-Mobile bag but i look a scruffy git so it could of been because of that lol.

Nothing was said to me though!

On another note i was in the Vodafone store a couple of months ago and the service in there ain't too hot, three times i have been in there and three times i have had problems. In future i'll stick to the webstite!
