I've got the Panasonic BW780 Blue ray HDD recorder that is supposed to be DLNA certified.

Although I can get my panasonic tele playing back using DLNA, I can't get a PC (W7 WMP12) to play anything back.

Has anyone got any experience with this device and connecting to it from other devices with success?

What I really want to do get the Sony KDL22EX320 tele, for my bedroom, which has wifi and DLNA but i don't want to buy it to find it doesn't work with the BW780..

I've not bought the Sony tele yet but i've found out some more stuff...

I've got a Vaio laptop with Vaio Media Plus. This plays SD stuff that is on the Panasonic recorder but not the HD recordings.

Ditto 4uStream deluxe.

So either the Panasonic is preventing other devices playing HD or the packages on the PC can't do it. I'll keep trying.

I've also discovered you can convert the HD recordings into SD and then they will play on the PC too. The process of conversion takes as long as the programme to view so you have to plan ahead.

The recorder will also convert to different formats of HD; I've tried the best quality but that didn't help. I will try them all and report back.

I've also now got the Sony tele (I went for the 24" which is full HD ready). That too will only play back SD recordings/conversions.

I don't know whether the problem is DLNA itself or the Panasonic recorder or the PC/Sony tele.
