Sanyo DVD Player Problem

Hi,

My mother has recently bought a Sanyo DVD player and of 5 DVD films she has bought only 2 have played back correctly. The 3 that haven't have displayed like a slow flashing throughout the film but when she took them back to the shop they played back fine on the DVD player there so suffice to say she couldn't get her money back as they were not seen to be faulty.

Any idea what could be wrong ? i'm guessing the DVD player itself doesn't like the copy protection on the discs or something along those lines..

Is the DVD player connected directly to the TV? If it is going through another device like a VCR, then macrovison copy protection will make the picture unstable Many DVDs do not have macrovision copy protection on, so that could explain why some worked.
